It was cold. Very cold. But nobody bothered to tell the bus driver I was sprinting down the driveway, so that meant I had to walk to school. Sure, it was only a few blocks, but I was depressed enough already.

Mrs. Mills was mowing her lawn, for God's sake. Who mowed their God Damn frosted-over lawn when it's negative who knows what outside? Not to mention the fact that it was six-thirty. Nobody, that's who. 

Evergreen High looked like a prison from the outside. Tall, chain fences; rusty bricks. It was the epitome of all teenage insecurities. The place where all dignity goes to die. A place that is separated by age, looks, and most importantly - Status. 

You said what kept you alive, and that almost always ended with tears and intense recover sessions. Teenage girls were sadistic, and I tried with every ounce of my will to keep myself away from them.

Yep, I was that kid. The one who spent his free time reading. The boy who never got dates because all he talked about was useless facts nobody cared about. I had one person I cared about, and they left me months ago.
