BONES AU - PART THREE "The Cannibal in Question"

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Dobium walked over. "How tall is that in English?"

" Approximately 5'8"." Scott turned to Amelia. "Have Dr. Olusola take D. N. A. samples and compare them to all of Gormogon's known victims."

The student nodded and ran off before Dobium saw Scott's face. "You suspect something, don't you?"

"I have no facts yet. My opinions are not relevant."

Dobium came closer, getting out his phone. "Let me make the call, Hoying. Give me some of that big brain of yours, cmon."

Scott rolled his eyes, but answered. "Someone removed the mandible from the skull."

"It's the one that was sent to you?"

"I can't say that with certainty. Dr. Saroyan should see if the D. N. A. matches..."

Dobium nodded as Cody came up. "Dr. Brennan? I think you should take a look at this." Scott and Dobium walked over to where the grad student has many skulls lined up on a table. Scott immediately noticed something similar about all of them.

"All of the canines have been removed from these skulls. Just he canines."

Dobium's eyes widened. "I want the security tapes from this room for the last 6 months."

"This room isn't covered."

"Why the hell not?!"

Scott shrugged. "It's Limbo..." Scott's eyes widened with an idea. "I need to re-examine the mandible Kirstie was working on before the explosion." And with that, he ran off.

Dobium groaned. "Of course you do." After exhaling deeply, he went up to Kevin for an update. Kevin, of course, had one.

"It's the Lobbyist that disappeared. D. N. A. 's a match and so are the dentals. Dr. Hoying's gonna want to take a look at the markings on these."

Dobium raised an eyebrow. "What's that? More cannibal teeth marks on the bone?"

Kevin nodded. "Gormagon went after this like Henry the 8th after a chicken leg."

Back upstairs on the platform, Scott was re-examining the mandible that was sent to him by Gormagon when Kevin came to tell him.

"These appear to have been gnawed on too. They'll probably match the denture markings Kirstie found." Kevin said as he showed Scott the bone.

Scott shook his head. "They wont."

"You haven't even looked at them yet."

"Kirstie said these markings on the mandible were made by artificial dentures made from polymethylmethacrylate and other polymers."

"And...?"

"They were not made by artificial dentures. Kirstie should have known that." Scott said just as Dobium came up to the platform with them.

"He made a mistake. It happens." Dobium shrugged.

Scott shook his head. "Not with Kirstie." He walked off again as Kevin and Dobium looked at each other in confusion.

"Hey. I heard Kirstie was wrong about the dentures."

"No."

"What do you mean? Kevin and Dobium said..."
