Its Tuesday and I'm packing for my year 9 camp. I have a whole list of things that I need to bring, I never go camping unprepared. The camp is to prove that we are able to look after ourselves, and to prove that we're trust worthy, and reliable. We have to be in at least a group of three. I'm going with my best friends, Tobey and Ned. I chose to be with them because they really wanted to go, and I knew that they have a lot of energy, and know a bit about camping. Being that I know more about camping and how to survive off the land, I'm hoping that I can teach them a bit more. I try to pack light when doing camps like this one, all I normally pack is a sleeping bag, inflatable pillow, pocket knife, food (but not too much), maybe a tent, a couple of spare clothes, rope, and a fire lighter (flint and steel). They're the basics I take, but I don't want to go into too much detail.
So, it's Wednesday and I'm at school ready to go to camp. I'm waiting for Tobey and Ned to arrive. Tobey is the first to arrive and five minuets later Ned arrives. Ned didn't seen so sure on going, so I asked him why? He said, "My parents told me that no matter what I do I have to be with a teacher no matter what". Finally the bus had arrived and we all put our stuff on and then boarded. On the way to the camp site I explained to Ned why it would be ok. I said that we'll camp near a teacher's site so if any thing goes wrong, we would be close to help. I also told him that I am a very good camper, and that I know a lot about camping.
By the time we got to the camp grounds, I had just finished explaining to Ned and Tobey what we'll be doing once we got there what we have to do before sun sets.
