"Two beautiful boys. Congratulations."
"What should we call them honey?"
"Vlad. Vince. Our beautiful twin boys..."
"We're going to cherish these boys. Aren't we, Ibis?"
"Yes, my dear Alice. Yes we are."
Seventeen years later...
"Vlad, hurry, we're gonna be late!" Vince yelled as he broke into a sprint.
"Slow down, you're too damn fast!" Vlad yelled back, his hair falling over his face. Everyone knew about the twins. The hybrid twins. Their mother, a beautiful archangel, all knowing, the most well known face around the underworld, Alice. Their father, an all-powerful demon, hell bent on destruction and soul harvesting, Ibis. Their traits, their powers, in the form of two young boys. Vince, the older-and mature-of the two boys- his jet black hair all the females seem to adore. He looks lanky and weak, and is still the more powerful of the twins; he just doesn't realize it yet. His hair is a jet black, as black as the night, as black as the soul of his father. And yet he's nothing like his father. He's a pacifist, he's calm, he's collected, he tries to resolve everything with peace. Vlad, however...isn't. He's so quick to violence and so used to seeing blood that he dyed his hair the same hue as the crimson liquid that flows from the bastards that hurt him, or his brother, or anyone he cares about. Granted, he's a good kid, he's just too much of a brute force to deal with. Especially when he's angry.
They reach the front door of their house, out of breath, but before they could reach the knob, the door swung open. A silver haired woman stood there, her eyes of silver stern, arms crossed, tapping her foot on the ground. Vlad and Vince looked at each other and swallowed nervously.
"And WHERE have you been for the past hour?" Alice asked, slightly irritated. Vince swore a vein might bust from her forehead.
"W-we went to the falls! We wanted to see the fish" Vince exclaimed. His hair was in a mess, his breath ragged as he spoke.
"The fish were beautiful, mom! You should have seen them!" Vlad seemed excited as he spoke. "They shined when they flew out the water, and they glided, and-"
Alice cut him off. "You know you're supposed to let me know when you leave for this long!" They both apologized over and over again. She sighed and smiled. "You two are a handful sometimes." She ruffled their hairs, to their discontent as their hair was messy as it was, and let them inside.
Their father, however, wasn't as lenient as their mother. Without warning, both their heads whipped to the side, their cheeks marked red. Ibis stood beside Alice, glaring down at them.
"Sweetheart," Alice began. "That wasn't-"
"Do you both have any idea how long you've been gone?!"
Vince stayed quiet, staring at the ground. Every time he's struck by his father all he does is go silent and nod. Vlad, however, doesn't. He took a threatening step forward.
"I don't care if you're my father." He seethed. "Don't you ever harm my brother again. It's not his fault."
Ibis growled, swinging at him. But to his surprise, Vlad's hand flew up, grabbing his fist. Alice took a step back, a worried look on her face.
"I said, Dont. Lay. A hand. On. My brother. Again." He grips his fist tight, and Ibis winces a little.
"Who do you think-"
"I'm being protective of my family. Something you obviously aren't capable of." Vince was taken aback. He had never seen his brother this angry before. He could see the tiny flames dancing around his head as his father slowly dropped to his knees in pain. Vlad let go, glaring at him again before walking off.
"Vlad, wait a minute..." Vince started, but stopped. It was useless when his brother was violent. He felt helpless. No, he thought to himself, this is my brother we're talking about. I need to help him. Make sure he's alright. He hugged his mother tightly and walked over to his father, avoiding his eyes. "I'm...sorry about Vlad..." Ibis didn't respond, staring at his now bleeding hand. Vince runs off, searching for wherever his brother went.
"I can feel this strange power coming from them."
"A...power, you say?"
"Maybe even more powerful than you~"
"..."
"Oh, grow up, Ibis, one day there was bound to be someone stronger than even you."
"I guess i'll have to prove you wrong, sweetheart."
"You know i'm never wrong."
