chapter 8 (part one)

I started speed walking almost running, but the car kept gaining on me. I turned my head slightly to see who was in the car. When I realized who it was I let out a huge breath I didn't know I was holding in.

What the hell? You scared the shit out of me. I thought you were some pervert or something, I said my heart still beating fast.

"Well as you can see I'm not a pervert." Antonio's friend Stephen replied with a smirk.

Haha cute. I replied.

"So do you want a ride or are you just gonna stand out there?"

urm yeah sure. Oh yeah and by the way my name is diamond not girl, I replied while getting in the car.

"Oh yeah sorry diamond I had forgot your name won't happen again" he replied giving me a full body check.

"so are you hungry? because I know I am." he giggled.

yeah I could eat I replied with a smile.

We pulled up at an old restaurant I use to go to when I was little with my dad called Stravos. He use to take us here all the time just me and him. memories started rushing back as the aromas started hitting my nose as we walked in and sat at the table.

"Diamond are you okay?"

yeah why do you ask that? I replied back curiously.

"Because I've been asking you what you wanted to order for the last two minutes and you didn't say anything. you almost looked like you were in another world."

Oh no I'm fine I was just thinking about something, I replied with a reassuring smile.

"No something its wrong l can tell.it's like your whole mood changed when we walked in here. Now Ima ask you this one more time. Are. you. okay?" He replied staring deep in my eyes like he was trying to find the answer.

yeah it's just I use to come here with my dad when I was little before he.....he passed away I said looking down while playing with my fingers trying to hold back tears.

"Oh shit im so sorry. if I would've known I would've never have brought you here."

no its fine. I mean how could you have known.

"If you want we could leave and go somewhere else." He said still looking in my eyes.

For the last time I said I'm fine but thanks for asking, I said with a smile.

We stared at each other in a comfortable silence until our dinner came. He had the most gorgeous blue eyes and perfect smile I'd ever seen and he's sitting here with me I started feeling a little self conscious but I knocked it to the back of my mind as the lady brought us our food.

We ate out food in a comfortable silence.

He paid even though I insisted on going dutch and splitting the bill.

We got back in the car and drove off.

"So how did your dad die if you don't mind me asking."

He had cancer. I replied while looking our the window.

He was fighting it for two years. while we thought he was getting better he was actually getting worse, I said with a sigh. One day he just collapsed....He died in the hospital that night, I answered balling my hand into a fist so tight not realizing I drew blood.

"Diamond look at your hand!" Stephen replied looking worried as we pulled up into me and Antonio's place.

"come on let's go clean your hand." stephen said while pulling me out the car and into the house and towards the bathroom.

it's fine I'm not a baby I can take care of myself I said just above a whisper.

"Just sit down" Stephen replied while rummaging through the medicine cabinet , getting out the peroxide, cotton balls, alcohol and bandage wrap.

I couldn't help but giggle at how he was acting towards my hand.

but then I looked down at my cut and almost freaked out about how deep it was. But kept calm so he wouldn't notice how panicked I was. the sight of blood makes me nauseous.

"put your hand over the sink for me so I can clean it."

Okay, I replied closing my eyes until he got done cleaning my hand and wrapping it up.

"You can open your eyes now" he giggled.

o-oh yeah I said with a stutter.

"so why were you walking by yourself earlier?" he asked while we headed to the living room.

its complicated. but long story short, i went on a date with Dalon and he was flirting with other girls so i left.

"wow. So he was just gonna let you walk home by yourself?"
