There before me stood a monstrous looking creature.
It's eyes golden and slitted like a cats. It stared back at me. It's large figure breathing slowly as it watched from its small perch. The white puffs swirling into the air before disappearing into the sky.
All I knew was that it wasn't human. It had long rabbit looking ears that stood up and alert. Large wings protruded from it's back, soft looking feathers that were caked in dirt.
I couldn't help but gulp when it would twitch slightly. It's large wings flexing every now and again.
What caught me off guard the most was the large tail that would sway behind it's back. It almost looked lion like, with a large clump of fur.
The creature moved then, it climbed down it's perch and stood before me.
Now this wasn't such a large creature now that I wasn't craning my neck to see it.
It's stood maybe 6'2" which I guess is still pretty big compared to me.
It's golden eyes continued to stare before it whispered something and vanished. All that was left of it was a large pale colored feather.
My fingers trembled as I picked it up. It's softness making it feel as if I wasn't actually holding it in my hand.
It was then that I noticed I was being called inside by my mother. It was going to rain anyways so I guess it would be good for me to go in.
Before I closed the door though, I looked back and could've sworn I saw the same golden eyes watching me from the shadowy sections beyond my yard.
This was more than 3 years ago, and I haven't seen the creature since that day. All I have left is a feather that proves I wasn't dreaming the beast up.
