It was the creaking that woke me up. That, and the alarm, repetitively blaring "WARNING. LOW ALTITUDE". The shuddering of the ship reminded me of the astronaut training exercise we did to make it this far. Looking around, I saw my computer, shattered, in front of me. It's not working. I slowly looked over my shoulder, grasping the horrifying sight in my path. Objects, strung everywhere. A first aid kit in one corner, with a bright flashing cross. Reminded me of the war. Computer monitors shattered with little to no life in them.  One of them was flickering profusely. I slowly make my way to the monitor, only to be greeted with another warning. "WARNING. THRUSTERS OBSTRUCTED." Something from outside must have hit the thrusters... this... makes no sense. I slowly make my way through the mess of technology. It was hard to see through the ominous fog that was a dark green shade. Looking around was like being blindfolded. Making my way back to my computer was like a game of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey". It was a nightmare. Eventually, I make my way back to my computer. Then I notice something. Outside the window, right next to my computer, there is a huge round shape. And it's coming really fast towards us. I panic, not knowing what to do. I suddenly realize... I worked in the control room! Looking around, I spot a row of flickering lights, and a bar. Sprinting my way over there, I end up tripping over every damn thing on the floor. "I'm not going to die" I chant to myself as I approach the control panel. Eventually, I make it there. Out of another window I can see my impending doom as the sphere comes closer and closer. I grab the control panel, find the button marked "landing gears" and the one marked "reverse thrusters", and pushed them both. Surely enough, I hear the muffled creaking somewhere in the distance. My ship was a large one, so I didn't think that my actions made a difference. Hopefully the reverse thrusters wor... OH NO! The screen to the left of the button shows that only 2 of the 6 thrusters deployed... ugh, they must be jammed... I try to do something else, and just as the planet engulfs the entire window, I spot a button marked "Emergency Thrusters". I smash the button, panicking, hoping to live through this. Suddenly, there is a force pushing back, and I end up tumbling to the floor. Just then, a huge BANG is heard in the distance, and my head smashes against the control panel. It starts bleeding, and the pain slowly lulls me to sleep. For the second time in one day, I am out for the count.
