I always heard my sister talking about her best friend. I didn't know that meeting him would change my life forever. He is and always will be a person I trust. His name is Zeke and this is our story.
"So have you picked out a dress for homecoming yet?" My best friend, Ally asked me.
"I've been looking but I can't find any that stand out to me. I want something short but not too short." I said.
"I can help you after school if you want." She says.
" We can't we have show choir practice after school in the auditorium. Remember?" I tell her as we walk into 3rd period study hall.
" Okay well then we'll go after that. Can your sister take us?"
" Nicole probably can but the only problem with that is she's hanging out with Zeke after school. I'll still ask though because homecoming is this Saturday and I need a dress."
" What about Shelby? Doesn't she drive?" Ally says taking out her phone to look for dress stores.
"Yeah but----" I start but get interrupted when someone walks up to my desk.
" Hey cutie." It's Zeke. My sister's sexy best friend. He's a senior. And a football player. Which means everyone's eyes are on us.
"Umm hi. What's up?" I ask fidgeting. I'm nervous. Like really nervous.
"Your sister wanted me to come and tell you that after school I'm taking you home she had to leave early. Something about cramps." He says laughing.
" You know I don't think my sister will appreciate you telling my whole 3rd period class that she had to leave because she had cramps." I said raising my eyebrows at him.
"Just meet me in the freshman parking lot after 8th, okay?" Zeke says standing up from the spot he took next to me.
"Okay. Oh hey are you busy after school. Both of the girls are sick and mom and dad have shit to do so I was wondering if you could take me to Circleville so I can get a dress for homecoming?" I ask with hopeful eyes.
" No I'm not busy. What store do you need to go to?" Zeke says.
"Probably 'Uniquely Yours'. And if I can't find a dress there then I'm not going." I tell him looking him in his beautiful brown eyes. God he's gorgeous.
"Okay beauty. I'll take you. What class do you have last?" He asks.
"Physical Science with Kirk. I can meet you at your truck." I tell him.
"No it's okay I'll come to your class." Zeke says.
"Zeke it's fine I can----" I start but I'm once again cut off by Zeke.
"Maggie I'll pick you up from Kirk's room. See you later cutie."
He says and then leaves before I have the chance to respond.
"What the hell just happened?" Ally asks me.
" I have no idea. But I completely blanked and forgot to tell him about practice."
"Don't go. I'll cover for you and tell them you were sick so you left right after school." Ally says fixing her eyeliner.
"What if Michelle finds out that I'm hanging out with Zeke, she will kill me." I say walking out since the bell for 4th period has rung.
"She won't. Cause you won't tell her and I know Zeke won't."
"Okay. Well I guess I'm hanging out with Zeke Fortner after school."
