It was Storm's first day in her new school, as she had just moved to a new city, to a quiet place in the country-side. She had just finished year 10 at her old school, but due to immense bullying and income problems within the family, she moved to a small cottage, incredibly far away from her past city life. She had had enough time to settle down into her house, as she had been given special permission from her new school to unpack and have one day in a new home, due to the bullies leaving her with anxiety issues. So when today finally arrived, she was as nervous as anything to enter a new, busy, extremely massive school.
Upon seeing the gates of the school and several hurrying students, jostling about, she was reminded of the life she had before she moved. Fighting back her tears, she slowly walked up to the school, however, she paused for a moment, before nervously walking in.
Looking around her, she saw several types of students, nerdy, athletic, fashionable, geeky or so she had been taught. You see, back where she was from, no class was mixed, everyone was separated into their strengths (or as they called it, 'categories'.) The rules were, you were only allowed to talk and hang out in these categories, and if you were caught doing anything out of place (even taking to a person of another category) the punishments would set you straight. Since Storm never really knew what strengths she had, she would never really have anyone to talk to, and when out of view from teachers, despite the rules, the others would pick on her to points where she would even make attempts to escape her school. It's only when she eventually told her parents, that it was dealt with and she moved away some time after.
Suddenly, Storm regained her senses, as she had seemed to gaze off into nowhere, as she was remembering. She was suddenly alerted with someone yelling.
'Hi? Hello?? Are you ok?'
Storm shook her head lightly, fully regaining her senses, she looked at the person talking to her. She saw a young girl (about the same age as herself, she guessed), quite short, with a long wave of dark brown hair, tied in a cute, top pony-tail. Her eyes were what really stood out though. Her eyes were crystal blue, incredibly captivating. Storm answered the girl.
'Yes...ummm actually...i'm not sure...i'm new here and I feel pretty lost.'
Luckily, the girl smiled at Storm, and to her surprise, held out her hand for Storm to shake.
'Don't worry!' She said 'My name is Crystal, I will look after you, and help you get use to this school.'
Storm, feeling relieved that finally someone was actually being nice to her for once, breathed a sigh of relief and shook Crystal's hand.
'Thanks, umm I was wondering...could you perhaps... show me around? I don't exactly know what to do or where I'm going...'
Crystal, starting to move, replied
'Sure, I can show you around, since we have about 20 minutes before morning registration, by the way, the bell goes off, 5 minutes before, and then 5 minutes after that, to tell you when you should be in your form room.'
Storm, remembering about forms, suddenly realised that she knew nothing about her form or where it was, or let alone, where any of her classes were, she hurriedly said to Crystal.
'Wait! I don't exactly know where my form room is....in fact..I don't even know who my form tutor is...I don't know where anything is.'
She felt a wave of panic sweep over her, however, Crystal noticed and reassured her.
'Don't worry, lemme take you to reception, just say who you are, say that you are new, and they will give you a timetable with all your lessons, teachers and their class rooms on it, and don't worry, I will help take you to your form room, as well as help you out when I can!'
Crystal smiled warmly at Storm, Storm, actually feeling less panicky and actually feeling appreciated for once, she smiled back and thanked her, and with that, the two girls happily set off towards reception, Storm, no longer feeling left out and rejected.
