"You're welcome. You know I'll help you anytime."

I sighed, ignoring him, sitting there until the lousy bell rang.

"Taeil, Chaerin, I need to see you two," the teacher

said. We both walked up to her desk, wondering why she needed us.

"You both got a 100 on the assignment today, good job!" She exclaimed.

"Well, Taeil helped me a little," I replied, giving home credit.

"You both also did well on the homework," she said, handingus back the homework. I looked at the paper in confusion. Homework? I didn't even do it.

"We both worked on it together, I have an algebra text book at home," Taeil said proudly. I nodded, going along with what he's saying. I looked at the paper in my hands to see the problems all neatly solved, with my name on the top written exactly like my handwriting. I walked out of the classroom and Taeil caught up to me.

"Don't leave your homework on your desk next time, please remember to take it home and complete it."

I rolled my eyes at him.

"By the way, my mom is going to visit yours. I'm going with her so I can help you on today's homework," he said happily. I groaned.

"You know what, stop following me. I don't want to be seen with you," I replied coldly, looking around the hallway to see who could be looking at me in disgust for talking to this midget.

"See you in biology, Chaerin~ah," he said sweetly, walking the other way.

When I got home, I immediately went to my room, knowing Mrs.Lee and Taeil could come any moment now. I decided to get on Twitter for a while to see what's up. After a while, I heard the doorbell ring and greeting voices.

"Chaerin! Come downstairs please~!" My mom hollered at me from the living room. I sighed heavily, slowly walking downstairs.

In the living room, my mom was greeting Mrs.Lee and Taeil. She turned to me and smiled.

"Chaerin, say hello to Mrs.Lee and Taeil!" She exclaimed. I nodded, plastering a fake smile and bowing.

"Annyeonghaseo Mrs.Lee and Taeil, I'm glad you came to visit," I greeted in a joyful tone. I like Mrs.Lee, she is nice and funny. On the other hand, Taeil is just an annoying nerd.

"Taeil told me you guys were going to work on your homework," Mrs.Lee told me.

"They can work in her room," my mom offered. I glared at her, telling her through eye contact my disapproval.

"Chaerin, take Taeil upstairs to your room so you can concentrate better," she said, ignoring my beaming glare.

As Taeil followed me upstairs, I felt like the world was against me once again. It had always been that way, having the world push me closer to Taeil. It really sucks how I can't have a normal life without a nerd following me everywhere.

We walked into my room and Taeil took a seat in the chair to my desktop.

"Are you ready?" He asked with a bright smile, knowing I was highly annoyed by his presence. I rolled my eyes, taking my algebra folder out of my backpack as he did the same.

"You can sit here," Taeil said, standing up. "I can stand."

I nodded and took a seat as he stood next to me.

While he helped me, I was so impatient to finish the paper. Every time he leaned closer to me, I just wanted to push him across the room. I groaned.

"What's wrong?" He asked, noticing my sudden change of mood.

"When are we going to finish?" I whined.

"We've only done 4 questions, we have 16 to go," he replied. I groaned, grabbing my hair in frustration.

"I see you still have the Valentine's Day present I gave you last year," he said happily, looking at the stuffed bear on my bed. He had given me a pink and black almost life-size panda and some candy on Valentine's Day. I had given the candy to my mom since I refused to take them, but the panda was too irresistible. It was happily sitting on my bed between the other pillows, matching the pink bed spread.

"I only kept it because it'a cute, not because you gave it to me," I explained in a harsh tone. Instead of his smile fading,it only got bigger.

"I'm glad you liked it," he replied. I turned away from his smile.

"Chaerin.. Why am I annoying to you?" He asked calmly.

"Because you have to follow me everywhere I go."

"What's wrong with that?"

"It's annoying!!"

"Why can't we at least be friends?"

"What do you mean by 'at least' ?" I glared. He looked into my eyes, melting my toughness away.

"You know exactly what I mean.." He said. I started feeling nervous, and the more I shrugged it off, it only increased.

"Chaerin, why can't we at least be friends?" He asked softly. I stayed quiet, thinking it's the best I should do.

"Please give me a chance to be your friend and to show you who I am. Then if you still don't want me near you, I'll leave you alone."

"Why don't you just leave me alone now?"

"Because you don't know me."

"Of course I do. You're that short nerd that follows me everywhere I go and embarrasses me in front of everyone."

"I've never embarrassed you be-"

"Remember Kris!?!" I yelled frantically. He chuckled.

"It was just a joke. He took it for serious, which was my intention after all but-"

"Whatever! We're not going to be friends and that's FINAL."

"You don't know me well, Chaerin. How are you just going to judge me like that?"

"Quit saying I don't know you, I've known you since last year!" I argued.

"Chaerin, just give me a chance to be your friend. I ask for nothing more," he pleaded. His eyes expressing sorrow if I rejected his offer, the way he had to look up to face me, it softened me.

"Well.. fine. But only because I'm nice," I replied, sighing in defeat.

"Really?!" He asked excitedly. I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, child. Get over it-"

"You know I'm older than you, right?"

"How would you know? I bet you're an 11 year old that skipped grades for being weirdly intelligent," I replied, crossing my arms.

"You're birthday is on February 26, 1999. Mine is on September 24."

I looked at him in shock. "How do you know my birthday?"

He smiled. "I just know."

"So, friends?" He asked, offering his hand. I just looked at it and looked back at his cheerful face.

"Friends.." I murmured, folding my arms. He pulled his hand back.

He smiled mischievously, showing his white teeth with blue braces.

"My Chaerin, you won't regret it. I promise .."
