Koda instead looked at Joe. "I wanna see my stepdaughter. Now."

In Hayley's Room at the hospital she was sleeping in her hospital bed when Joe, Scott, and Koda arrived. Koda smiled when he saw his step-daughter. "Hiya, honey." Koda said as Joe took off his handcuffs.

Hayley perked up and smiled. "Koda! I knew you'd come!" Koda came over and hugged Kayley and her mother happily.

Scott and Joe stood in the doorway, watching with small smiles.

"Thank you, Joe."

"Oh, this never happened. Don't thank me. As far as the bureau is concerned I caught him here, fifteen minutes from now." Joe winked up at Scott.

Scott smiled and kissed his cheek. "Still, thank you."

Joe nodded. "Yea, yea, just... don't tell anyone, alright, Bones?"

"Alright."

Scott came tearing into the prison visiting room. "You told Koda I said Joe wouldn't arrest him?!"

Rupert seemed calm. "Look, I couldn't turn him over to you. That'd just put you in a quandary with Joe. I did it this way for you."

"Dad!"

"What? Joe busted him? That hard ass."

Scott opened his mouth to retort but his phone rang so he turned his back to Rupert and answered. "Dr. Hoying."

Kirstie started speaking immediately after. "Dr. Hoying, it's me, Kirstie. I found something in the Gormogon vault I think you should see."

Rupert called over, thinking it was Joe who called. "What are you being such a hard ass on my kid for, Hobbs?"

Kirstie snorted over the phone. "Who's that?"

Scott shook his head. "Nobody... one second, Kirstie." Scott lowered his phone and covered the microphone. "It's not Joe, dad... You know, it's - it's bad enough that nobody can't trust you, but now you're making it so Koda and I can't trust each other either."

"He came back. He hugged his little girl, okay? So far things are working out great." Rupert said as Scott turnsed to leave. "I'm here for you and a lot of dads aren't."

Scott stopped. "That is true... Bye, dad." Scott opened the door and left for the lab. When he got there, Joe was also there and Kirstie greeted them. "What's going on?" Scott asked.

"Why don't you turn the lights on?" Joe asked after Scott, since one could only see the basic outlines of things, it was so dark.

"I was down here helping Mitch decode when I noticed the mirrors." Kirstie explained.

Joe raised an eyebrow. "Mirrors?"

"Here" Kirstie said as she handed them both night vision goggles. "Put these on so you can see where you're going."

Joe put them on and felt stupid. "This had better be good." He said as he and Scott followed Kirstie.

"I'm surprised no one noticed the mirrors before. They're everywhere. Different kinds, different sizes. Placed seemingly at random around the vault. However, I have an over developed sense of spacial reasoning. As a result, things that appear random to some people appear deliberate to me." Kirstie said as she pointed out the mirrors.

Joe interrupted. "Kirstie? Get to the point?"

"Right. Watch this." She flicked a switch and a laser light zigzags around the room, bouncing off the mirrors.
