I am back from the dead

Hello! I started writing this story in middle school and abandoned it after 4 chapters. I randomly remembered it last night, reread it, and have decided to continue writing it. Years have gone by. I started this in middle school and I am in college now. I am going to use this chapter to explain where exactly I'm going with this.

So, in middle school, I obsessively read YA novels like Maximum Ride, Mortal Instruments, Harry Potter, etc. And I also read a lot of fanfiction. You can definitely see this in my writing style back then. I think I wanna keep that tone, sort of. I want this to be a sort of love letter to that genre. Over-the-top dramatic backstories, John Green-esque love interest, cliché high school bully, author's notes of course, etc. But ideally a little deeper than your typical story from this genre.

The 4 chapters I wrote in middle school (Chance, Conversation, Compilation, and Creepy) are immediately after this note. I will be rewriting these before I start with the new stuff because... they're pretty rough. I will be changing some things. If you haven't read the originals, you might be confused but oh well!

Here's a list of things I will NOT be changing in this story:

-I'm leaving the original chapters up because they're kinda hilarious. Again, these are the next 4 chapters after this one. After those will be the rewritten versions. And then we will finally continue the story!

-The basic chain of events will be the same.

-Keeping all the names because they are completely hilarious and dare I say iconic. Who's last name is COALSTONE?

-Still going to have little chibis of the characters at the top of each chapter, although I altered some of the designs a bit and I'm using a more aesthetically pleasing app now (at the top of this chapter, you can see Markus's original design that I put in a draft and never published).

-Keeping that A-class dialogue.

-In middle school, I intended for this story to get darker and darker as Ivan grew more and more obsessed. I still want to take the story in this direction.

Here are the things I WILL be changing:

-I wanna give Ivan some actual personality.

-I wanna make Nico's character more consistent. For some reason in chapter 3, I completely changed his personality into a stereotypical hyperactive ball of energy. No idea why! So I'm gonna chill him out a bit and make him more consistent. Do him more justice.

-I wanna round out Ashléa some more. Make her a bit more than your typical manic pixie dream girl.

-Ditching the C theme for the chapter titles. No idea why I decided to do that or why I chose C, but it'll just be too constraining.

So, that's about all I've got! As for my update schedule, I'll take as much time as I damn well please. And the last thing is that this story will get dark. It'll take a bit but it will get there. If you're uncomfortable with dark content involving stalking, kidnapping, PTSD, bullying, and murder, then this may not be the story for you. Gonna do this School Days style - all standard slice-of-life romance stuff that is entirely unrecognizable by the end.

So yeah! Do I have a plan for the plot? Vaguely. Do I know where I'm going with it? Sorta kinda. Will I abandon this again? Possibly! But I hope you enjoy it anyways.
