I scampered through the deep, dark forest; it reminded me of a maze with all its twists and turns. Its long bony branches clawed at my bare legs as though they were trying to stop me fleeing, blood dripped from the wounds they had caused, but i hardly paid any attention. I had to get away from this place and the urgency was so strong it was almost impossible to ignore.
So i ran and ran and ran until my feet gave way from fatigue and exhaustion. I tumbled to the wet, muddy, unclear ground and hissed when my head connected with a jagged rock, that stuck out from the ground. A sharp pain made its way through my skull and dizziness overwhelmed me. A warm, wet substance flowed freely down my face from the wound on my head caused by the rock. I hissed and let a few tears escape my sore eyes.
The darkness whirled itself around me and my heart started to rapidly speed up. I feared who or what else was out there. The world i lived in was full of monsters, full of creatures, that stalked the night looking for an innocent person to feast upon. I knew the beast i had awakened was close, i could hear his howls in the distance. Getting closer with every passing second. I needed to get away before before the creature caught the scent of my blood. If it did, i stood no chance of freedom, it would quickly find me and quickly execute me. I pulled myself up using the large tree stump beside me. My legs wobbled and my body shook with fear and adrenalin. I grimaced when i started to feel the pain from the numerous cuts and wounds that had embedded themselves into my flesh. Filth blood and rain coated my body and i trembled. The cold froze me to the bone and the icy tears started to fall again due to the mental and physical pain i was feeling. A howl erupted throughout the forest causing me to run forwards hoping i could escape this horror. A shimmer of hope made it way through my body when i saw the familiar road that lead into my town and lead to my protection. A sudden pain exploded in my ankle making me shriek and i slumped to the ground. The crack of my ankle ricocheted off the trees and bounced around over and over again. I cried out in agony. A sickness was brewing in my stomach. The beast was going to catch me and i stood no chance.
It quickly dawned on me and i realised what i had done, fear struck me with so much impact that it felt as though my heart just stopped, the storm went silent, my eyes widened. I had signaled where i was with my shrieks. Almost immediately i became a rabbit trapped in the singular gaze of a dangerous predator. I then heard the loud thud of two feet landing behind me. I refused to turn around. It came so close that i felt its warm breath on my neck. "Sienna" It whispered. A shiver curled like a snake down my spine. "You're not escaping me this time"...
