Melody POV

It was my first day of school which is at Midtown High. My name is Melody Ranger. I'm what most people would call a nerd I had the glasses and everything to prove I was. I always got A's in my tests which made people bully me more. You know how most female nerds would have crushes on the most popular guy in the school, not me I had a crush on a fellow nerd and his name was, Peter Parker. My best friends Bonnie and Caroline were also nerds but unlike me they tried to be like the cool kids.

When they weren't trying to be like them we would always talk about our city's new superhero Spiderman. Both my friends had deep and I mean deep crushes on him even though they hadn't met him, talked to him or been rescued by him. However I had my eyes on someone else. Peter and I never really talked because I was scared to go talk to him and I heard from one of my friends that he had a crush on Mary Jane. She was a very popular but nice girl, I never hated her but I envied her with her perfect red hair and wonderful personality I wouldn't wonder why Peter liked her and unlike my friends I would not copy everything she does just in hope that Peter would notice me .

I wanted to be me but even as a nerd I wasn't fully being me. You see I'm a foster child and I live in a home with thirty other kids all younger than me. My foster mom, Esmerelda told me of the night my  father and mother brought me there and that they never wanted to leave me she said they told her I was different and that if something weird starts to happen to me that on my seventeenth birthday to open a box they gave her they said when the time is right I would know how to open it. I haven't opened it yet but hey I'm still sixteen and I have a month until so let's live it up.

I was always in shape but wore clothes that were nerdy and would cover my body ,I always hold my hair in a neat little bun. I was always athletic and I never get sick on the box my parents left for me had a big fancy six on it . I always wondered what it meant but I guess I have to wait another month or so till I find out.

Okay back to the present today was the day I was gonna talk to Peter Parker or I might chicken out again like last time. It was lunch time my " friends" are literally pushing me towards his table Huh some friends. I told them to stop and I was walking towards them when I noticed Peter staring at someone I looked in the direction and saw the one and only Mary Jane. She was walking past their table and slipped Peter caught her and her food. Seeing the way Peter looked at her hurt me my friends noticed this but I told them I was okay and I ran off to the restroom. About two minutes later a group of girls walked in. It was Liz Allen and her minions. They laughed at me cause they knew I liked Peter. " Well well well is not little Melody ranger haha she's such a geek she can't even get a fellow geek to notice her haha good luck trying to find someone who will fall in love with that " she said gesturing to my face and taking my new glasses and throwing it on the floor turning around and laughing they all laughed and left me their crying. I didn't talk to anyone of my friends the rest of the day I just kept my distance.

After school I had to get groceries for Esmerelda it was dark and a long walk home so I decided to take a short cut through a dark alley I know stupid idea but I honestly didn't care about living and dieing I always knew I was going to die I just patiently waited my turn loosing people is what I'm afraid of I care about everyone else but myself when it comes to that. While I was walking down the alley I noticed some guys drinking I didn't want any trouble but they noticed me but I picked up the pace dieing is one thing but rape is another story. " Aye baby where you goin come spend some time with us " a man said blocking my path and the others slowly coming around me. " I'm not your baby and I don't want to spend anytime with you " I say getting a little scared. " oooh boys I think we have a tough one here, you know baby I like tough girls " he says getting closer to me as the others laughed. " Don't touch me leave me alone I don't want any trouble " I say very scared. Then one of the men wrap his arms around me and the group of men start getting closer and touching my face and my hands. I scream and scream and scream until the guy hits me in the head and I screamed even louder then I saw something on the fire escape  it was Spiderman yell. " Aye didn't you know it's terrible manners to touch a woman without her permission " Spiderman said as he jumped down from the fire escape and taking out the other guys some of them ran for their lives " Aye freak show don't come any closer or I blow her brains out " the man holding me said with a gun to my head and I begin to think about how the kids at the foster home would take it knowing I was dead and I cried louder." Okay listen you don't want to hurt her cause you know if you hurt her I'll hurt you and then you will spend the rest of your days in prison ,hey it's gonna be alright okay nothing's gonna happen to you okay " he says the last part softly to me and I nodded. " Okay if you don't hurt her I won't hurt you if you let her go I'll let you go we have a deal? " he asked the man he nodded lowered the gun letting me fall to the floor and ran off . I couldn't move after all Esmerelda's place was really far if I walked so much could happen if I walked.

So I cried on the floor until I see someone walk infront of me. I jumped back and looked up to see Spiderman looking down at me he slowly kneeled infront of me speaking softly " Hey I'm not gonna hurt you sorry if I scared you Melody " I was surprised that he knew my name but I didn't bother asking him just yet . He helped me up and I thanked him and he nodded. We stood there awkwardly until " Hey so how are you gonna get home? " he asked me. " Uhh I guess I have to walk home I...... have to walk home" I say looking down at the ground " You're really gonna walk after that just happened? " he asked surprised " I guess I could run or something, thank you Spiderman for all your help " I say going to walk past him but he grabbed my waist and swung up into the air I gasped and we landed on a roof he stood infront of me " where do you live? " he asked " Esmerelda's foster care center " I say to him we stand in silence for a second before he spoke again " You live in a foster home? " he asked softly but it was quite clear that he was shocked " Yeah I do..... you must feel so sorry for me but it's okay my parents gave me up when I was a baby so I never knew them... you must think I'm a total loser it's okay everyone but Esmerelda and the rest of the kids at the center and my two best friends think I am " I say sadly "N-no i-i didn't think that i-i just y-you know w-was a-alittle sh-shocked that's all " he said quickly I take off my glasses to wipe the tears off them and I looked up at him and smiled then put it back on I told him i needed to get home so carried me to my window so no-one in the streets would see him. " Hey I have a question " I said to him before he could swing away " Yeah shoot " he said looking at me " How did you know my name? " i asked " Wh-what ?"  he asked nervously " Back in the alley you said my name Melody " I said to him " N-no I didn't " he said " Yes you did " I said walking closer to him " Well it was nice meeting you Melody I hope we see eachother again " and with that he swung off leaving me clueless as to how he knew my name but I would have to find the out another time. I told Esmerelda everything even about Spiderman she was worried at first but then was happy I was alright. She told me Megan the youngest in the center wanted me to read to her again. So I went upstairs to find everyone asleep but Megan was gone until I found her in my room I laughed and walked over to her and layed down and read a story to her then she fell asleep. Then I heard someone whisper an "ow" by my window I glanced at it and saw Spiderman I looked back at Megan and slowly got up and went to the window to find nothing there I looked around but saw nothing I shrugged it off and went to bed next to Megan.

Okay that's my first chapter y'all hope you like it next chapter is in Peter's pov so we can see how he feels towards Melody does he like her or not you will find out in the next chapter don't worry things get interesting soon loves😘😘😘😘
