Reality Check (One Direction~AU)

8 ~ A date?

"I'm exhausted." I huffed as I fell backwards onto my bed.

"Did you have practice again?" A light voice asked and I sighed.

"Yes." I replied.

"That's the fourth night this week!" Louis' voice echoed through the speaker on my phone.

"Oh, trust me, I know." I commented.

"You need a break, love." He whispered and I smiled to my ceiling.

"Why are you whispering?" I replied as quietly as he had.

'Cuz my voice is answering back to me before you do. I'm on speaker and I would prefer to talk to you on more of a personal level." He replied and I laughed loudly.

"How's this?" I asked as I clocked off speaker and put the cold metal to my ear.

"Better." I could practically hear his smile through the phone.

"You're a loon." I told him jokingly.

"Maybe, but it's more fun that way." He replied and I smiled.

"Very true.' I agreed and he laughed.

"So, about that needed break...." He trailed and I found myself raising an eyebrow even though he wasn't physically here to see it.

"What about it?" I pushed and he was quick to blurt out a reply.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out to lunch with me tomorrow?" He rushed and I swear I felt my cheeks heat up slightly.

"I go to lunch with you everyday.' I said and he chuckled nervously.

"Yeah, in the lunch room, at school. Then I leave to catch up on Maths homewor. I'm all caught up now and it is an open campus. So, I thought maybe we could go to a restaurant or a fast food place for lunch tomorrow." Louis rambled on and I silently laughed at his nervousness.

"Louis." I interjected.

"What?" He sounded a little worried.

"Do you plan on driving?" I ased.

"Oh. absolutely. It was my idea, I wouldn't just expect you to take on the responsibility whe I asked you out." He told me and I laughed out loud.

"Louis, it's fine. I would love to go out with you." I realized too late how awward that sounded.

"You would?" His voice was shay and I lost my breath for a few seconds.

"Yes. No. I didn't mean, like, exclusively. The whole boyfriend and girlfriend situation. I've known you mabe two months. I just meant... I'll go with you tomorrow." I stopped myself before I said something really stupid and embarrasing.

"Alright. We'll leave right after English. if that's alright with you?" He questioned and I nodded until I realized he couldn't actually see me.

"Yeah, that's alright." I answered and he sighed.

"Brilliant!" I could hear the smile behind his excitement.

"I just realized something." I commented.

"What?" He inquired.

"You have called me every night since the day I met you over two months ago." I stated and he hummed.

"I guess you're right. Do you want me to stop?" He asked.

"Absolutely not! I love it." I blurted and I heard him laugh on the other line.

"Glad to make you happy." Louis teased and I rolled my eyes.

"Watch it big. I can totally take away that date." I threatened.
