The Wolf Inside Me

Chapter 1

"I can't believe we're doing this." Brie said "I mean why do we have to disobey your dad again?" Brie is my best friend I've known her all my life when we first met she was upset because her favorite toy broke, and I fixed it, that was fifteen years ago. "-hurt you? Saphira are you listening to me?"

"Sorry what?" I asked "I said when are you going to learn that not everything your dad does is to hurt you?" "I don't know maybe when he stops treating me like a child, I'm sixteen years old I'm not a baby anymore. I should be free to go to parties and have fun like a normal teenager. I shouldn't have to run away to do the stuff I want." I reasoned "Plus you're the one who suggested this party." We walked in silence for the next block or so until we reached the edge of the woods.

"I don't think we should go in there." Brie said "This is the fastest way to the party if you want to go around be my guest but I'm going this way." I started walking again. "Fine but if you get eaten don't say I didn't warn you." She walked away. "K bye"

I was halfway through the woods when I heard a howl and a snap behind me. "Brie is that you?" I heard another snap "Brie this isn't funny come out here –oh my God." I screamed as the wolf pounced on me. I was able to pull out my sword just as it bit me. Brie came crashing through the woods with my Dad Thanos "Saphira Blue you know you better. you could ha- oh my God what happened?!" "The wolf i-it bit me." I sobbed "I'm so sorry." "It'll be ok let's just get you home. Can you walk?" I nodded "I think so."

When we got home I went straight into the nurse's chamber "What kind of wolf was it?" "I don't know but it had these glowing red eyes." She gasped and mumbled something under her breath "What's wrong?" I asked urgently "You must go. Only they can help you now. Go pack your things say good bye to your father and Brie and go to the woods. And whatever you do don't look back ever." "Marie what's going on? You're scaring me." I sobbed even harder "There's no time child, you must go. Hurry" She said as she pushed me out the door.

I ran as fast as I could, considering my leg, to my house just a block down from the nurse's chamber. When I got home I had run up to my room and grabbed my suitcase and backpack from the top shelf of closet. I had just started to pack when my father came in. "Saphira where do you think you're going?" He questioned severely, "I was told to say goodbye to you and Brie before I left to the woods, that wolf that bit me wasn't a normal wolf dad, it had glowing blue and red eyes." He looked at me absently, "Ok I'll take you to Brie's and then to the woods." I looked at him shocked "Dad, what's going on? And why are you just letting me go?" He looked at me with tears streaming down his face, "This wolf- The wolf that you are talking about, is a werewolf. Y-you know like the ones in the books I used to read to you? Sweetie you are now a werewolf and to save you and everyone in the city from harm, you have to go to the woods. I'll miss you so much." He hugged me tightly. "Now pack your things. I love you." He said as he shut the door. "I love you too." I whispered. 

"So.... I guess this is goodbye." I said to Brie "I'll miss you so much, and I'll text and call you every day, so it feels like I'm there don't worry. And maybe I'll visit sometimes." I hugged her hard. "Ok Saphira its time to go." Dad said as he finished putting my things in the car. 

As we drove away I turned around tears streaming down my face and waved goodbye.
