He only wishes to be alone
Crowded and annoyed
So many people
Being sold is only the first step
He goes, he cries, he gets over it
Age of 13
He becomes a man
No father
No mother
No family
All he has is pain
Staring off into the distance
Whips slash
Skin tears
Not one tear
He's cried too much
If only.....
He gets sold again
Except, a new beginning
A fresh start
He sees the family is black
They call him by his name
" Josiah! "
He looks
His parents
His family
Happiness comes and he finally cries
No more pain
Just love
He runs to them
He looks into his mothers eyes
He sees the worry vanish
He has hope once again
Josiah goes up to his father
The look on his face is full of joy
Josiah just stares at the family he didn't know were alive
He bends down to see his little sister
She says with a watermelon grin,
"I'm almost 4."
Josiah gives her a great big hug
Eyes filled with tears as big as rain drops
He doesn't know what to do
He's finally gotten his wish,
but somethings wrong
Josiah stands and realizes one family member he didn't hug yet
His brother.....
Josiah's mother looks at him and says, "He's gone, we lost him on our way to find you. We were almost there, then he wandered off and the next day he was sole, and now we will never see hom again. He died of eternal bleeding."
Josiah doesn't know what to say
He always wanted to see how had grown
He was only 6
2 years had past since his death
Nobody says anything
They have a house
Jobs
Money
But barely any happiness
Once again, sadness had swept over the family
Everybody acted happy, but deep down
They were holding something inside
It wanted out, but couldn't escape
The next day it's his birthday
Nobody speaks
Josiah leaves to go down to the store
As he arrives, he looks up to a familiar voice
It's him
He couldn't believe it
Josiah goes to say his name
Nothing comes out
He goes up and hugs him
"Oh Nathan, ma said you were dead."
Sweat beats down his forehead
The room is pitch black
He thinks
It was just a nightmare
He should have been there
He should have tried harder to find his family
A few days later
It's Josiah's sister's birthday
He wakes her up
"Happy birthday Emily!"
She opens her present
A round bouncy thing
Lines black, background orange
She has a big smile
"A Basketball."
The family is proud
Glad she likes it, Josiah's family
gathers around
Giving a group hug
Late afternoon
Josiah teaches Emily what he learned
He didn't know much, but he tried
Josiah was happy
He had gotten what he wanted
He had gotten a sister
Parents
A Family
Josiah had a good life
It was all he ever wanted
