We walked out onto the terrace of our apartment unit on the 7th floor, hand in hand. We've been dating for two years now, and I can't get enough of him. It's so late, but I wasn't tired, so I dragged him out so we could look at the stars. We stood on the terrace, looking up at the sky as I propped my head up onto the railing by using my arm.
"Aren't the stars beautiful?" I asked with no response in return. Why didn't he answer? I turned my head to find him gazing down at me.
"Hm?" I said in a confused tone, as if I was asking why he's looking at me.
"You're so beautiful that you just outshine the stars." I felt at peace by his sweet words. I stood up strait and leaned my head onto his shoulder, as he reached his arm around me and embraced me in a side-hug type manner. After a minute of silently looking at the stars together, I turned around to face him and jumped up onto the railing, sitting on it while looking up at my boyfriend. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he wrapped his arms around my small frame. We stared at each other for what seemed like forever.
"Why am I gifted to have such a great boyfriend like you?" I giggled, waiting for a response.
"I dunno, why do I have to have such a slutty girlfriend?" The smile stayed on his face, but his tone had changed to reveal a deeper, more menacing sound. I was shocked by his sudden words. He saw my confused expression and continued.
"Two years. Two years we've been together. Am I just not enough? Why? Why? I found out about you and Tom. And Carmen. And Mark. To think I was just about to propose too, huh? Such a fucking shame. Two years. All wasted on you. But it's fine, it's going to be fine sweetie." He spoke in a supportive type tone that seemed almost sincere. "Because I won't invite them to the funeral. And don't worry, I'll tell everyone it was a suicide." His tone changed, yet again. It shook my bones to the core. I was too scared to speak. I could see his lips move, but I couldn't fully process his words. What? Why? How? .......Funeral?
"W...w-hat?" Was all I could muster to ask.
I couldn't move. I was like a deer stuck in headlights, frozen to my seat unless another forced acted upon me. I felt his arms untangle from my hips, as he grabbed my wrists that had still been laced around his neck. He held them tightly, and untangled them too, but kept his grip on my wrist. He had one last thing to say to me.
"Goodbye, slut. See you in hell." He sounded pleased with his parting phrase, and he let go of my wrists. I felt my body plunge down the side of our building. Falling past each floor. Remembering every memory. I hit full impact on the ground. Feeling my bones break from the pressure. I could feel the red liquid gush from my back. I felt tears run down my cheeks. All I could do is repeat his last words through my mind. "See you in hell." Then my vision went black.
