Prologue

I was just a regular teenage girl that went to school, did her homework, had a boring life and had to deal with it just like everyone else. My name was Esperansa, I had long, dark hair that was layered and went to my lower back. I also had brown, round eyes and was of average weight and height.

I didn’t like my life that much; it was, well, boring as hell and people were just plain ignorant and very closed-minded, which irritated me. My family, like everyone else, were closed minded, other than my mom and dad, they were okay but they still didn't understand me. The only people that actually understood me were my friends and my brother Dante.

I loved my brother Dante; he was very laid back and chill. He had a funny personality and understood me better than anyone else. He was very protective over me, especially since he was my older brother, and if anything were to happen to him I don’t know what I would do. Compared to me he was way taller; like almost 6 ft. He was skinny, muscular, had brown hair that was slightly above his shoulders and bangs that went across his left eye like mine; however, he had blue eyes. He always messed with me about it caused I loved blue eyes and always wanted blue eyes. Even though my dad had brown eyes and my mom had blue he ended up getting the recessive trait which made me jealous but I still loved him.

We both went to high school, I was a junior and he was a senior, I was 16 and he was 17 and we both wanted to grow wings. Little did we know that our very dreams were going to come true and through that the world was going to change forever.
