Chapter 1
.....
The guy next door
.....
"Mom, have you seen my glasses?"
"Mooooooooom?!"
"Mom, I can't leave my experiment, I need my glasses."
Okay, seriously now. I've been looking for my glasses since last night, and luckily, today's a Saturday, otherwise I would go to school not being able to see what's going on and fail at everything in class.
But back to my point. I have to do this experiment for my science report I have to pass on Monday, and I have to observe everything about it and I don't have time to go downstairs and look for my glasses which my brother Cody probably hid.
Oh right. You haven't met my family yet. So to start with, we are a family of eight, including my dog.
Victoria, is my older sister, her full name is Victoria Jane Roberts and we also call her Tori. She's 21 and she's also taking her college course in LA which is screen writing. Ashton Gray Roberts, a.k.a Ash, my older brother is 19 and for some reason, he dropped out studying because he was hired as an actor for some big time showbiz job, which is pretty cool because screen writing and acting totally go together, I don't even know why Ash and Tori don't work together. Madison Isabelle, which is me,but you can call me Maddie and I am a junior who doesn't have a lot of friends and instead is very well known as a nerd. Lastly, there's Cody Louis and Maya Rose. They're fraternal twins and are also in sixth grade, I guess. We thought both of them were girls before they were born but apparently Cody was a boy when he got out of our mother's womb and he's 6 minutes older than Maya. Cody is nothing but an asshole and a pain in the head. He stole so many stuff from me. One time, he ordered so many post-it-notes online using my credit card. Maya on the other hand is nothing but a sweetheart.
My dad is sort of like....well let's say....RICH. He's a business man who makes sort of like billions at the end of the year. Unfortunately, my dad and my mom got divorced when I was 10. But atleast, he still gives us a good amount of money every month and a little bit money in our bank accounts every week.
Of course, I can't forget to mention. My dog. His name is Taco. Why? Well, on Ashton's 17th birthday, he threw a huge taco party at the house and since he only comes to visit once every two months, he gave me a puppy wearing a taco. Pretty hilarious, but a little sentimental too.
THE END.
It's not really the end of the chapter. I just didn't know what to say to end the whole family thing. But yah, since Tori and Ash are both not here, I'm technically the eldest. And it's a good thing, 'cause then I get to boss around. And when I say boss around, I'm talking about letting Cody swallow his pride and accept the fact that I like Maya more than him.
Moving on.
I ended up finishing my homework and still not finding my glasses. I went to the kitchen to check if mom was there since that's where she normally is, wasting all the groceries in making all sorts of stuff she'll soon end up burning and also to grab some oreos in the pantry.
I got a little suspicious that my mom was not in the kitchen. Second option, the garden. She still wasn't there. As I passed the window beside our main door, I saw a huge moving truck that says: "We like to move it." It also has a picture of some kind of house as its background.
And since I'm a logical human being, I figured out that it was a new neighbour. Honestly, I was pretty surprised, because that house has been empty for almost 4 years which made me have to make stories to scare Cody that it was a haunted house, but the real reason why no one has lived there is because ever since the owner moved to Paris, he raised the price almost twice the price it used to have.
As I was watching our new neighbour, I saw my mom talking to another woman her age who I guess is the one who bought the house. And so without having second thoughts, I stepped right out of the house wearing my sweatpants, hoodie and slippers with a messy bun tied up on my hair walking towards my mom and make a good impression to our new neighbour.
"Hey mom, could I grab some of the coffee in the upper cabinet?"
"Oh, honey, they're our new neighbours. Say hi." My mom replied
"Neighbour-s?" I asked in confussion.
"Oh, these are my sons Carson and Harris. Carson's a senior and I'm sending him to Lakewood High. This is Harris, he'll be going back to work in New York tomorrow, he just came to help and check out the house. And this is Natasha, my daughter, she's in sixth grade."
"Oh, I'm Madison, you can call me Maddie. Nice to meet you." I said as I shook her hand.
"Oh, silly me, I'm Mrs. Jones. Just call me Cathy." She said in reply.
"Well, Maddie goes to Lakewood as a senior too, and my twins Cody and Maya are also in sixth grade. I can ask them to help out Carson and Natasha if that's fine with you."
Our mom is a super chatty and hospitable person. Probably because she's a house wife and has nothing to do at home.
But why does she have to let me help a guy my age? I mean, I just think it's stupid.
Wait what, no way. There is just legit no way of me helping a neighbour or whatever as long as it's a guy. Wait what was I saying. Okay, is there such thing as internal fainting, because I really feel like I'm going to faint.
"Oh, that's absolutely nice of you. Hold on, let me call them."
As we were waiting for Carson and Natasha, my mom told me to get Maya and Cody. I also had to get myslef fixed.
"Oh, here they are." My mom said.
"Maddie, Cody, Maya, these are our new neighbors. Cathy,Carson, Harris and Natasha."
And we had that awkward conversation about the house and whatever. I could tell they were bored. But can we just talk about how handsome Carson was?
His hair was colored dark brown and his eyes were as blue and as deep as the ocean. Oh....absolutely my type.

End of chapter quote:
"As we grow up, we should realize that having lots of friends is not as important as having real ones."
Basically it means that having a ton of friends is not a necessary part of life. What's more important is that you have those people in life who you can really call TRUE FRIENDS.
