The Beginning

Ever since Quantico I had learned to wake up early. But this was my first day so I was walking down the stairs at 5, even though work began at 8. It was my first day in the New York field office of the FBI. I was going to be an agent. I was assigned to a team with seven others. A few were transfers from other offices and a few were from Quantico like me. We were all new to New York in one way or another. I scraped my hair up into a ponytail before grabbing my bag and walking out the door. It was about 7 blocks to the subway station that would take me directly to the office. It would be my first time riding the subway with my gun, but I had my badge so no one could stop me for it. Funny I thought an FBI agent worried about getting in trouble with a cop. But until a year ago, until IT happened, I was just a kid with a dream.
