Since the day I was born, I knew I wanted to be a ladybug. My mother always told me, "You can't be a ladybug, you're a human!" But I knew she was just jealous. Everyday I watched ladybugs crawl across my windowsill, looking at their majestic colors. I promised myself that someday, I would be crawling with them. I remember a time in middle school when I painted spots on my back and crawled on the floor. "What a freak!" they all would say. They couldn't understand the true beauty of the ladybug. All of them were imbeciles.
One day, while I was praying at my ladybug shrine, I felt a voice whisper in my ear. It seemed to be saying, "Closer, child." I soon realized there was a ladybug in my ear, the most beautiful one I've ever seen. As I scooped the godly figure into my hands, I felt myself transforming. My back started to grow wings, and I slowly shrank to the size of an M&M. My dreams were coming true. But then, I felt a vibration. Thumping, slowly nearing my location. I froze in shock, unable to move. I felt a foot crush me, my beautiful shell destroyed, my body broken. I screamed in pain. I saw my own blood spill onto the floor, and my vision started to blacken. The foot lifted, and my mangled body was left. "Hush, child." the majestic ladybug said as he knelt next to my body. "Your dreams have come true." I felt my soul slip away from my body. I am a ladybug, and a ladybug is who I was meant to be.
