I can't run from the truth. It embellishes itself in my head, and it won't get out. But yet, I keep running.
It has to catch up. I can't let it get me. It did that before.
The windows are all foggy, smoke covered almost. It has been like this for a while. The sun has dissapeared.
Ring.
There goes the bell. Still sitting there.
"Hey, class is over."
Standing up, and leaving the room and towards the front doors.
Rows of cars lined up. People are talking constantly. Smiling, laughing, cracking unnecessary jokes.
A honk of a familiar car. Quick footsteps muffle the sound of friends wishing goodbyes.
"How was your day? What did you have for lunch?"
Explanations. Leading to a boring conversation.
It wasn't always like this,
And I never wish it was.
Next place, another school.
Car door opens.
Same questions with the same answers.
"Guess what happened in class?"
Another conversation begins. The car swerves along the road to get to the house.
Car door shuts itself once more. The footsteps enter the house and go straight to a small bedroom.
"Today on Fox 16..."
The noise of the T.V. is so loud, it's always like that. No one bothers to fix it, they only complain.
Switching on a smaller T.V. and turning on a game console. Playing with a few online friends.
"Dinner's ready!"
Sitting up and walking briskly to the kitchen with a painted smile.
Chicken, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
A perfect dinner.
Grabbing a plate and beginning to eat. Conversations are heard and laughter as well.
It quiets down after everyone leaves the kitchen, eating food in rooms instead of kitchens, or at the table.
Night comes.
Homework is finished.
A new day is formed.
