I'm standing outside of Brookton High waiting to be let in. Due to moronic people the doors are locked so no one can get in without being let in by the receptionist or a key. As I stand there with my earbuds in the door swings open slowly. It's nothing special just a normal high school where people crowd in the hallways and speaking loudly over everyone else. My music flows through the white iPhone earbuds blocking out the noise that is coming from the school. I walk through the large glass doors and walk through another set of doors to the office to pick up a paper I was supposed to pick up yesterday. The paper states that I will be put into new classes. Its not the middle of the school year just a couple months into it. If you are wondering who I am, what grade I'm in, how old I am you will have to wait and see. But I will be nice and tell you my name for now. So, Hi my name is River Lee Walker. Now back to the real world.
Stepping into the hall bodies crowd around not paying any mind that I'm there. I slip past a wall lined with blue lockers to go to my own yellow one. The lockers on the left side of the hall are blue while on the right side they are yellow. As you could tell by now our school colors are blue and yellow and we are known as the Blue Knights. Anyway I open my locker and grab my books for my first three classes which are Maths (first period), English (second period), Photography (third period). The suppose to be empty locker next to mine opens. I look to my right to find a tall, muscular but not too muscular guy standing there getting his books out and putting others away. He's new obviously. He has umber brown hair that hangs just over his eyes and has a little waviness to it, a strong jaw line with a slight stubble on it, freckles grace his cheeks giving him a cute look and he is dressed similar to me. We both wear a black t-shirt with a leather jacket over it, while my black jeans have rips in them his are a dark blue with no rips, both of us have on black boots. His boots are biker boots while mine are combat boots.
I didn't notice I was staring till he turned his head showing me his deep green eyes and cleared his throat. His eyes seem to trap mine in a trance. His lips turned up into a slight smirk. God I could get lost in those eyes forever and never regret it.
"You know pictures last longer, you should take one instead of staring." he says turning back to his locker.
"You wish. I was just curious as to why someone would ever come to this crap school." I say going back to focus on my books.
"Sure if it helps you sleep at night. Just so you know its not like I had a choice in coming to this town and school." he turns to me again to smirk and glare a little.
"Oh well any way see you around new guy." I close my locker and walk away but get stopped by a hand around my upper arm. I turn back around to him with a questioning look.
"I was wondering if you could tell me your name and maybe show me around for the day?"
"Hmm okay I'll show you around but you can figure my name out on your own." I say to him.
"Why must I find out on my own? Just tell me." he pouts.
"Once you know my name you will understand. Give me your schedule." I hold out my hand and he gives it to me. Turns out we have almost all the same classes. "We have most of the same classes so right now we are going to art."
"Okay so what's your name its driving me crazy not knowing?" he stops walking causing me to stop as well.
"That's the point. Now come on." I smirk at him and continue walking to the art classroom.
"Urgh come on at least give me a hint then." he pouts his bottom lip out as we enter the room.
"Nah and just so you know puppy eyes don't work on me." I sit at the back in my seat nearest the window and he sits next to me.
"Fine do you want to know my name then?" he faces me and I look in his eyes again and see the curiosity in them.
"Eh" I shrug.
"Its Hunter."
"Well Hunter pay attention to the class." I say turning to the teacher as he walks in and begins talking about our new project. We have to draw someone or something in the room in detail.
I look around the room and spot a girl who doesn't talk to anyone. Her and I are the same in some ways only she actually has friends where I have no one. I start drawing her as she draws the person in front of her. Lexi is her name if you're wondering. Her forehead crinkles as she concentrates on her detailed drawing. I didn't really notice that Hunter has been staring at me the whole time. I finish my drawing of Lexi and look at my masterpiece. Not to brag or anything but I am extremely good at drawing and painting in detail. She looks so real on the paper like you could feel how soft her hair is and the texture of her dress.
"Wow you are really good. You should show it to the class." Hunter says looking down at my paper.
"No i rather keep it to myself. You will come to know that people here don't really like me that much. But its fine I prefer it that way. Anyway what or who did you draw?" I say looking at the paper he was trying to hide. I see that he had drawn me. Oh my wow he is really good. "Wow you are so good at drawing."
"Thanks" he stands and leaves like I had said an insult to him. I try to act normal and just go back to drawing anything my mind came up with. What the hell did I say to him that he would just leave like that? Oh well when I see him next I will ask him.
