Walking the halls with a senior at your side would definitely bring attention, especially if it's my sister, June. We're both what people would call, 'popular.' She was a star soccer player, while I decided to take an easier approach to high school; cheerleading. It's not just that, it's the last day of school before summer, everyone's trying to cram in goodbye's before break. That's not really my thing. I like to stay in my own world, which only has a few members: me, June, and two other girls, JIllian and Becca. They're my closest friends, I met them at the beginning of freshman year, now we're ending our sophomore year together.
I stopped at my locker, slamming my hand next to it so the couple standing in front would move. They jumped and glared at me, but still walked away, "sorry, didn't see you there," I smirked. After I put the combination in, I noticed someone's presence behind me. I continued putting things away, and grabbing other supplies.
I turned, putting on a fake smile, "what can I help you with?" I asked walking past, I recognized him from his older brother who was a senior.
"I'm having a summer party tonight. Thought it would be fun to have a few sophomores." He walked at my pace, walking around other kids.
I stopped in the middle of the hall, turning to face him. "You are a sophomore, stop acting like you're better than that. Like, literally no one in this school knows your name, they just know your brother."
He stared blankly at me for a minute, "your sister knows my name. She already said she was coming tonight, too. It's pretty much seniors coming, it'll be fun. Unless you show up." He muttered the last part and began walking away.
"Fine I'll come to your party Ashton. I won't ruin it either." I talked over the other kids, his arm shot up, his thumb pointing towards the ceiling.
The day went by fast, with people sharing summer plans and ignoring all the rules. People whispered to each other about parties, hoping that none of the teachers would hear. I was just glad I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.
