Chapter 1

The Hogwarts Express

Brynna stares out the window waving goodbye to her beloved parents, who are holding back tears as their youngest daughter heads off for her first year attending Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her long raven hair is sweeping across her face, and her dark eyes filled with tears, as one falls over her mole on the right side of her face, she sees that the compartment door has just opened. She pushes up her large red glasses that enlarge are chocolaty brown puppy dog eyes. Sarah and Sydney enter the compartment doors. Sarah her short auburn hair lights up her eyes, but they begin to dull when they she sees Brynna's face. Sydney's bushy caterpillar eyebrows droop in sadness, as her 1920's bob hits the nape of her neck.

"Someone had a hard time saying goodbye didn't they?" Sydney asked as she looked down at her close friend wiping away tears.

"They're just worried, it's only been three years since the battle of Hogwarts." Brynna says between sobs. "They're just worried, They're convinced it's not safe here. I mean it's only three years since the battle took place, but it's still vibrant in everyone's minds for obvious reasons. They're rightfully worried after all It's still a huge target for danger."

"Trust me Brynna, everything is going to be okay. This is going to be the best year ever," Sarah exclaims. Brynna realizes how much she's overreacting.

"You're right, Hogwarts doesn't know what's coming, talk about a golden trio!"

Their excitement was soon muffled as Elena and Desiree entered the compartment. Elena flips back her dark brown to blonde ombre hair out of her eyes. "Hey guys!" Elena says.

"Hi, El-" Elena cuts her off.

"We have an important matter to discuss."

"I've already heard Elena worrying all ride here. I'll be right back, I'm gonna run to the trolley." Desi explains as her black long hair flows freely. Before anyone responds, Elena begins to speak.

"Okay, we have sorting today, as soon as we get there."

"Wha-?" Sarah says confused.

"Right you're a muggle-born. Sorry, sometimes I forg-"

They were interrupted.

"We're only 10 minutes away, go put on your robes!"

The group of Brynna, Elena, Sarah, Sydney, and Desiree were rushed out of the train and placed in front of a half-giant who was hard to understand.

"Did he say his name was Hadrid?" Desiree asked confused.

"I think it was Hagrid, but I don't know," Sydney said. The rest just shrugged their shoulders as they walked to the canoe assigned to them by 'Hadrid'.

They travel until they reach the castle after what felt like forever.

"Oh my gosh, we're here, what if I'm not a Slytherin. Everyone in my family has been one. Oh no, Oh n-" Elena was interrupted.

"Well if you're not a Slytherin then your family will have to cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it. Don't worry" Brynna said reassuringly.

"Wow, thanks for that," Elena said sarcastically.

"I'm sorry, but who cares what house you get into. I mean all that I want is to be in the same house as at least one of you," Brynna responded.

"That's because you don't have to worry about it, your mom and dad were Ravenclaws and your sister a Slytherin, your family doesn't feel any allegiance to a 'family house'. I know it's silly, but I feel like I am going to let them down."
