I snap out of my thoughts as a dodgeball bounces off the back of my head.

I really hate the other kids, especially my brother. He always picks on me because everyone gives me more attention.

I'm only 6 years old and could already add and subtract without using fingers. I'm already learning how to multiply too, which is another reason why all the kids hate me. I'm too smart for them.

Non of the kids ever bully me exactly, only one person has tried to physically hurt me, it didn't end well for him in the end however.

I get up from the floor and put my hands up just as another dodgeball comes at my face. That was close, I thought.

I run and pick up the dodgeball, throwing it at the basketball hoop.

'Haha, little baby can't throw a ball straight' A kid yells.

I smile as the ball bounces off the rim and hits the kid square on the face.

After the game of dodgeball we go back inside the school.

When we get back to the classroom, the kid I hit in the face runs into me on purpose.

'Your going to pay for hitting me in the face brainiac' He says threateningly.

'Do you take pennies and dimes?' I ask rhetorically.

At that, the kid gets angry and throws a fist aimed at my face.

Expecting the punch, I duck and punch him in the ribs, causing the boy to collapse on the floor.

I follow up with several punches to his face and more punches to his ribs. He will never bully me again after this, I think to myself.

After 3 minutes, I feel myself being pulled from the kid. I turn around to see a man and a woman, both wearing casual clothing.

The man pulls me to him, taking me to an empty hallway.

We finally stop and he turns on me. 'Why were you fighting that young boy over there?' He asks.

'I didn't start the fight, I was just defending myself' I mumble softly.

The man looks at me, forcing me to look into his eyes.

'The self defense excuse ended when you elbowed the boy in the ribs and sent him to the floor. Why did you continue fighting him?' He presses.

I sigh. 'Because, he would have fought me another day. I made sure I won the battle AND the war' I say shrugging.

The man looks at me and smiles. 'Now there's an answer!' He says laughing.

I look at him confused. 'You aren't going to punish me?' I ask nervously.

The man looks at me. 'Why would I punish you when I should be awarding you for your quick thinking? You are right, that boy would have indeed tried to bully you again, now he can't because you taught him a lesson' He says smiling.

'So, can I go home now?' I ask.

The woman replies this time. 'Of course you can'

I look at them both, something feels wrong here.

I quickly gather my things and run to where my mom picks me up. For once in my life I actually want to go home.

After eating dinner and brushing my teeth I go to my room and lay down on my bed. Staring at the glowing stars on the ceiling I count them to fall asleep. Just as I close my eyes, I feel something poke me in the arm. I try to open my eyes but found it was impossible.

Seconds later, darkness engulfs me.
