One Week Earlier:
Large metal doors fly open as a bloody body is thrown through. The man on the floor moans and props himself up on his elbows as he rolls onto his back. His fear filled eyes look up and see a large silhouette marching toward him. He crawls backward into a corner, terrified of the man before him. "You weren't supposed to find out this way." the silhouette says as he stands still.
"You just had to get too curious, Buck." Steve finishes as he stares down at his beat up friend in the corner. "St-Steve. Listen to me." Bucky trembles as he looks at Steve through the brown hair over his eyes.
"No," Steve snaps back as he leans against the wall, his body now over Bucky. "You listen to me...."

Bucky screams as pain shoots up and down his body. This was all too familiar; the musty smells, endless mind games and the taste of his own blood. He always expected Hydra to treat him this way, but never in his life did he ever think his best friend would be the one behind the trigger. Bucky's head goes flying backwards as Rogers slams his fist under his jaw. Bucky's head bobs and falls back down, his chin resting on his bruised chest. "Tell me. WHERE the Avengers are!" Steve shouts as he clenches his fist. Blood drips down Bucky's body and onto the cold floor beneath his feet. He moves his wrists slightly; the skin around them stung like hell fire from being rubbed raw against the chains that held him up. His mind is numb as he barely holds on to consciousness. Bucky's lips remain silent, but his mind is screaming. The demons Hydra created were dancing in his heart and the voices were shouting in his head. He gives a shaky sigh as he closes his eyes, trying not to let the overwhelming fear he felt encompass his soul. Steve's heavy boots break the silence as he begins to pace back and forth, not taking his eyes off Bucky for a moment, "Why are you hiding them? What do they have that I never gave you?"
Silence takes over again; occasionally disturbed by the drip of water falling from rusty pipes.
"They never broke my trust..." Bucky's soft voice manages to mumble, breaking the silence once more. "I see now...that Stark was right about you...and I was so wrong." Barnes voice cracks as the reality of his words hit him. He breathes heavily as his lungs beg for oxygen, "I will never tell you-" his voice stops as he takes as sharp breath in. "where they are. Never." He finishes boldly.
Steve speaks lowly, "That's a shame."
He was almost invisible in the darkness as his black and deep red suit blended with it. Bucky weakly lifts his head and glares up at Steve, their eyes making contact. Steve steps into the light, his blonde hair resting neatly on his head and his cold, blue eyes staring back into Bucky's sad, grey ones. Bucky felt his stomach drop at the first clear sight of his friend. This wasn't the Captain America everybody knew and loved. This wasn't his friend. Those eyes didn't belong to that of a compassionate Avenger, but instead, a dark heart with a twisted mind. Steve gives him a blood chilling smile, filled with hate and strife, "Because I can do this all day...."
