I'm walking down the school hall going to my locker from the year before. Last time I saw it was the last day of my ninth grade school year. As I walk toward it I hear a familiar squeal about ten paces behind me.

"Mandy!" The sound you just heard that almost caused an earthquake is my friend Claire. We've been besties since the second grade and we haven't seen each other since the summer of transitioning from freshman year to sophomore year.

"Claire-Bear!" I scream in return. She runs toward me and I'm immediately ambushed with a hug. I pat her rapidly letting her know to loosen her grip enough for me to breath. She quickly lets go. I gasp for air.

"Sorry! I just missed you sooo much!" She squeezes me once more, being more careful this time though.

" I missed you, too. But we did skype every single day Claire, I think you can calm down just a tad bit." We both laugh.

"So what? I missed the presence of my bffluteoe!"(Best friend for like till the end of eternity). "Is that such a crime?" I shake my head in response. "Ok I'm all ears. Tell me all about your trip to South Carolina. I. WANT. EVERY. SINGLE. DEATAIL!" I burst out laughing.

"Ok I'll tell you everything. When I first got there, my whole family was waiting for us and I was so happy to see th-" as I'm telling Claire about my amazing summer, I spot a familiar face in the corner of my eye, I turn to see him staring at me with his amazing smile. I wave to him and mouth "Hey" and does the same in return. I turn back to finish speaking to Claire but she's ten feet away speaking with another group of girls. They seem as if they're laughing and pointing... at me. Claire walks over and the girls follow.

"Oh, how cute girls. She actually thought that I would be friends with someone like her." By now I know that familiar face realizes something is wrong because I can feel his protective force behind me.

"I know right? To think she actually thought she was cool enough to hang out with you Claire, as if." One of her minions agreed with her. The familiar face touches my side trying to keep me calm, but I don't pay attention to him.

" And look, she brought her her dumb bodyguard to protect her" Claire's laugh is more of cackle. Her minions laugh along, basking in her glory.

"He is not dumb, he is deaf and you know that Claire." I feel myself getting emotional. My eyes start to sting but I hold back my tears.

"Deaf or not, he's still dumb." I feel both my fists clench but they're held down by my protective force behind me. Claire sashays away and her minions follow, cackling like the witches they are. I turn around to my protective force and he looks me in my eyes he holds my gaze for a few seconds, then grabs both my arms and wraps them arm him. He does the same to me because he knows what happens next. Here com the water works. After about two minutes, he releases his hold and signs to me.

"Mandy, I have to tell you something." He looked nervous.

"What is it?" I signed back in response. To my surprise, he opened his mouth to  say something...

"BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!" Was the sound of my alarm clock. I jump out of my sleep. I soon put one hand to my head and the other to my heart. I got up too quickly.

"It was only a dream" I whisper to myself. After a moment I get up and go to the restroom to freshen up. It's the first day of school and I wanted to look nice. I wear a nude colored dresses with white sneakers and I curl my hair. After getting dressed, I head downstairs to find a huge breakfast at the bar.

"Good morning dad... Melissa." They both say good morning in unison. I go pick up my baby brother and kiss him on the forehead. " And good morning to you Masey." His name is Mason, but I nicknamed him Masey a few hours after Melissa had given birth to him. He laughs and gives me a slobbery kiss on the cheek in return. He's only seven months but he's very advanced for his age. (I've been teaching him a lot.)

"You sure you don't want me to drive you sweetie?" My dad asks me for the millionth time. I shake my head.

"No dad for the millionth time. I just got my license and I intend on using them." He nods as an ok. "I should be heading out now, I wanna get there before all the good parking spots are gone. He nods again. I hug him and kiss Masey once more. "Later gators!" I shout out the door.

There is almost no traffic on the road, to my surprise. You would think there would be traffic jams everywhere considering it's the first day of school. I'm at school now I pull in and search for a spot. After a few minutes, I finally find a good one. I turn off the car and unbuckle my seat belt. I pull own the mirror and look at myself.

I think out loud "Now for the real nightmare."
