Finally the bell rang as the sensei dismissed the class. Michiko let out a large sigh before leaving the room to go to the vending machines.
It's been a month since class has started and having lost the elections, Michiko doesn't have any extracurricular activites. In short, she's bored as hell.
It's just her second year so finding a club to join isn't impossible. But the problem is she doesn't want to join a club. She had lost interest in doing those things anymore.
Michiko pressed the strawberry milk after arriving at the vending machines near the faculty room.
"Kobayashi-san!"
"Oh? Sato-sensei." Michiko bowed and greeted upon seeing the sensei who managed last school year's elections.
"How are you doing, Kobayashi-san?" The sensei seemed really worried because of Michiko's loss last elections. Well the girl doesn't blame him. He witnessed how Michiko worked hard and had put effort in the campaign but the girl still lost.
He must be worried if I'm still depressed or something
"I'm doing fine, sensei. School had just started so we don't have a lot of work."
"That's good to hear. And oh, I almost forgot! Kobayashi-san, do you already have an extracurricular activity? Have you joined a club?" The girl was surprised with the sensei's frantic approach.
"E-Eh, no."
Sato-sensei sighed in relief. "Do you know how to play volleyball?"
"V-Volley...ball?" The sensei nodded.
Volleyball? Maybe Sato-sensei wants me to join the volleyball club? No. Not after what happened before
Michiko was weirded out with the sensei's actions. Even though she doesn't want to lie, she still answered as, "I know the basics but I'm not really good in it."
"That would do fine."
"Eh? What do you mean, sensei?"
"Eto...You see the volleyball club is in need for a manager. Their supposed to be manager transferred to another school without informing them and it's been a month since they're searching for a new manager."
"Well how about first years, sensei?"
"That was their first option but no one seems to be interested. The volleyball club doesn't standout much."
"But sensei, I don't think I can-" she tried to reason out but the sensei beat her to it.
"Nonsense! I know you can do it, Kobayashi-san. After seeing how you worked hard in last year's elections, I know you'll be the first choice for this position. In fact, being a club manager is much more easier than being a secretary." Sato-sensei said with conviction, determined to have the student agree with the position.
Michiko, having to realize that her sensei will not give up, said, "I-I'll give it a try, Sato-sensei."
"Thank you so much, Kobayashi-san. I'll inform the volleyball club right away. You can go back to class now." The sensei went back to the faculty room in time for the bell to ring.
Michiko started to walk back to her class. She can't stop thinking about her decision of being a manager of a certain sport she once loved.
Wait..
She suddenly stopped walking having to realize something.
Did Sato-sensei said what volleyball club am I managing?

Michiko went back to her class while pondering her thoughts. She sat on her seat while drinking her strawberry milk.
The boys volleyball club? No. With how popular the boys here, They surely already have a manager
"-chiko-chan~."
Maybe it's the girls volleyball club. If it was the boys volleyball club, Sato-sensei would have asked a gu-
"Oi Michiko!"
"What?! Eh?! Shinji!" Michiko exclaimed upon seeing her childhood friend beside her.
"I've been calling you a few times. What were you thinking about?" The boy pulled the chair to the desk beside her and sat while eating yakisoba bread.
Nakamura Shinji from class 2-4. He and Michiko have been friends since elementary school.
"Nothing. Oi, what are you doing here? This isn't your classroom!"
"Ehh? Michiko-chan doesn't want me here?" Shinji said while shedding comical tears.
However, he only received a flick on the forehead from Michiko."Ouch! Michiko-chan it hurts!"
"Tsk you're such a girl, Shinji."
"HAH?!" Flame (figuratively) erupted from Shinji's eyes as he lifted his arms. "You see these guns?" He pointed a finger to his biceps.
"There is no guns." Although there is because of his swimming practices, there's no way in hell Michiko would said it just to boost her best friend's ego.
Shinji had put his head down the desk and gave up on her best friend. "Oi, get out already!" Michiko scolded.
"Fine, fine. See you later after dismissal." Shinji stood and left the classroom.
