As tlhe baby sealion pup frantically ran across the beach it's mum started to get ready for bed. As she slowly patted down the weeds she called for her pup. Near by some campers were just just starting a fire. As the sun went down and the campers started singing, the sealion pup's dad came back with three fish for dinner. After dinner the pup gave a big yawn and laid his head down slowly and gently.
In the morning there was a big clutter of noise and roaring; loud, unfamiliar noise. The sealions raised there heads as quick as light to see a big camper van driving away. A new experience for the pup; normal for the parents.
A few days later the pup's mum decided to go out for fish leaving the pup and his dad behind. At dinner time she wasn't back so the dad went out to look for her leaving the pup all by himself. A few minutes went by then an hour, then three hours. Both of his parents disappeared, in his eyes he was abandoned; orphaned... alone.
He found some fish in a near by tide pool then went down to his little bed and went to sleep. Open to predators, in the morning he was on full alert. He looked up only to see the campers back. Some of them went down to play on the water. They saw the pup with no other sealions. One of the children called to an adult. As soon as they realized he was all alone and there really weren't any other sealions. They gave him a couple of fish they caught. They slowly earned the pup's trust. Eventually they lived with the pup.
One day they went camping in the same place that the pup was abandoned. To their shock his parents were back frantically searching for their pup. The campers let the pup go to see his parents. But he smelled... different once again, he was abandoned, orphaned, but this time, not alone.
The campers took him on once again and looked after him, for years, and years, and years. They called him Sam, once Sam was old enough they let him into the wild to find a mate.
He found a nice female sealion who was also abandoned. After about 2 years they had a sealion pup! They live on the same beach as the campers and the campers visit 4 times a year ro visit Sam, his mate, and his pup.
