TUNE OF MY LIFE

Music is so simple, so infinite, yet one of the most complex things known to mankind. Music is as old as time, changing, defining and changing the malleable world as the universe continues its long journey to the unknown.

If you think about it, it’s pretty extraordinary. How a simple combination of vibrations, with different frequencies and pitches mixed in just the right way can bring a person to tears or make everything in life seem a little bit better.

The greatest thing about music is how it connects all walks of life. For one second, people come together with the same passionate understanding in their hearts as they sing the lyrics of their favorite song. For one second, everything in the world is just and right.

“Hey Melody, aren’t you going home yet?” Carrie asked me making me stop from my writing.

“I’ll just finish this then I’m good to go.” I told her.

“Okay. Just hurry because it’s already getting late.” She said.

“Thanks. Take care.”

I continued writing my essay about music. When I finished writing, I put my things inside my bag and walked out of the room. I sighed. Good thing our home was only five minute walk from our school.

I put my earphones on so that I could listen to music while walking. I played one of my favorite Ed Sheeran song. I was so lost  listening to music that I didn’t notice the person walking towards my direction.

“What the fuck?” I heard the man’s voice.

I fell down on my butt because of the impact of the person’s body.

“Aww...” I rubbed my aching butt.

“Watch where you’re going.” Said the man’s voice.

“I’m sorry. It’s just that I’m so lost with the music.” I pulled my earphones from my ears and looked up to the person. I was shocked to see nate Patterson looking down at me. Who wouldn’t know him? He’s just the most famous student in the whole Princeton Academy. He’s famous because he’s the team captain of the basketball team and he always brings his guitar with him.

Whenever I walk around the campus, I could see him with his friends singing while he plays his guitar. No wonder many girls admire him and ran after him. He’s so beautiful and kind. He’s not like the other famous heartthrob whowho are jerk, manwhore and playboy. Nate is kind, friendly and smart.

“Are you okay?” He asked me and ffered his hand to help me get up. I accepted his hand and he pulled me up.

“Yeah. I’m fine. Thanks.” I sad.

“You’re from the second section?” He asked.

“Yeah.” I answered.
“So, you”re walking home alone?”

“Yep.”

“But it’s dark already. Aren’t you scared?” He asked me looking around the darkness.

I shrugged. “Nah. I’m used to it.”
“Can I offer you a lift?” He asked. I looked at him like he just grew another head. “Seriously?”

“Why?” He asked confusely.
I think for a while. “Umm... I’m fine. I can walk home.”

“I insist.” He said and I just nodded. He smiled. “Wait for me here. I’ll just get my car.”

I nodded my head and waited for him at the side of the road. A minute later, I heard a sound of a big bike. Then suddenly a Ducati stopped in front of me. Nate took off his helmet and put it on my head. He knocked on the helmet and smiled at me.
