Dark Shadows Of The Desert

A new day, A new beginning

I woke up before my alarm today. Its a new day a new beginning.

I'm soooooo excited. I have finally got what I wanted after struggling for three years.

"Are you all set?" I turned around and saw Lara standing behind me with a huge smile on her face.

Lara is my roommate and my best friend, we have always been together for the last five years. I left my parents house to pursue my career and did my major in journalism for two years and have been trying my luck at YOUR DREAM magazine for the last three years and now they have FINALLY called me for the interview.

YES, I'm all set.

Oh God......I can't believe its happening. I just can't wait for afternoon to come.

"Hold your horses Niana, its only eight." said Lara.

Yaa....I know....but its just that it feels like heaven on my side.

"FROM NOW ON EVERYTHING WILL GO ACCORDING TO THE PLAN." I said to myself.

"What time is your flight?"asked Lara.

"1:30 in the afternoon."

"All the best to you!!!"

"Yup.....thanks a lot......now come have your breakfast."

Lara's nose became all red and in no time tears started rolling down her cheeks and she started sobbing and smiling at the same time, she said, "I'm  happy for you Niana and I will surely miss you a lot." and we hugged each other.

Its exact twelve and I'm checking if I packed my stuff properly or not. Since I have always been a bit clumsy and my classmates use to call me 'AN AIRHEAD'.....I double check everything I do and this time NO mistakes......I'm gonna do my best.

Airport is thirty minutes right from my apartment. So I left at 12:30 in case of traffic. Lara is also with me.
She came early from work to see me off.

SHE IS REALLY THE BEST....

We reached airport on time, I still have fifteen minutes before the final call for the passengers. Lara is behaving like a grandma who is about to send her only grandchild to a distant country. YES.....she is overreacting a lot but thats how besties are. She is clicking way too many pictures and its embarrassing.

ALL THE PASSENGERS GOING TO NEWYORK ON FLIGHT NO. NYC4326 ARE REQUESTED TO MOVE TOWARDS THE BOARDING AREA.

I turned towards Lara and said, " It was the final call.... I have to go now. Take good care of yourself. I love you."
I love you, too

I started walking towards the boarding thinking about all the new opprtunities that I will be exploring in New York.

*BAM*

OH...I'm so sorry!!!

I bend down to pick up my luggage when I realised that the other person who bumped into me is not even helping me pick up my stuff and is not even apologising.

I looked up and saw a tall round head girl with a firm face who just glared at me and left.

Oh God it feels so chilly all of a sudden, who was she?...Ehh...weird  people are everywhere.

I got up and turned around to see that Lara was still waving at me.

With a huge smile on my face I said to myself "Everything is okay, evrything will go according to the plan."
