'Maybe is good enough. One day may or may not come.'
Reading those lines brought shiver down her spine. It was written in a beautiful cursive handwriting on a note that she received 2 years ago. It had been 2 years since the last time she talked to the girl that changed her, the girl that made her believe that love knows no boundaries. The girl she was willing to drop everything for to be with. "That, was" Andy almost inaudibly said under her breath.
She was brought back to the real world when she heard a knock on her office door, and then a few seconds later it swung open revealing her favorite girl at work, Liz. She's more than just an associate for Andy; she's like an older sister to her. Liz has short black hair complementing her deep black orbs. Born and raised in New York, her happy go lucky personality and wit made her one of the most beloved staff in the facility. "Andy, we need you in the conference room now. The interns are there and they are all excited to meet you" Liz said with a huge smile plastered on her face. "Ugh! We have interns now? Why didn't you tell me about this yesterday?" She said feigning annoyance. "I can't go there to meet them right now cause I have tons of things to do." she told the girl without looking at her and pretending to read some papers in her hand. "But you need to meet them, they're from different countries and this is our first time having this foreign exchange student program" Liz stood in front of her desk raising an eyebrow looking at the papers she was holding. "Wait! You're not busy, are you? Those are the papers I sent you yesterday morning and I'm pretty sure you told me that you are done reviewing them." Andy dropped the papers on her desk dramatically. She then stood up and gave her friend a sweet smile. "I'm not in the mood to talk to those interns, can't I just meet them tomorrow?" She isn't really in the mood to talk to anyone right now. She can't even concentrate on her work cause her brain is too occupied with memories of a girl. Her girl. No, scratch that, she was never hers.
"Fine. I'll reschedule the meeting with their mentor tomorrow. You're lucky I love you." Said Liz turning her heels towards the door to leave. "I love you more, Lizzy Breezy!" Liz just rolled her eyes at Andy that's now back in her own little world.
After spending hours of working on the things that needed to be done Andy felt like she needed a drink. Her work exhausted her but thinking about the girl was even more exhausting. She decided to meet up with her best friend and business partner for dinner and some drinks.
On her way out of the office, she bumped into a girl. "OMG! I'm so sorry; I wasn't looking at where I'm going. I'm in a hurry!" said the girl while picking up the papers scattered on the floor that she was holding before they'd bumped into each other. "It's okay, I'm sorry!" Andy hurriedly walked towards the elevator and boarded on it without looking at the girl. "Fuck! That accent!" Her mind got clouded with questions. After arriving at the parking lot she took off in her blue Audi r8 like she was driving an ambulance.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, she looked around to find the blonde guy with hazel eyes that she adores so much, Jake; her best friend and the person she trusts her life with. They've known each other since forever. The two met in high school and since then they've been inseparable. They even went to the same University but with different degrees. Jake came from a well off family and his parents adore Andy so much to the point where they even asked her to marry Jake. But Jake knows about her sexual preference and told his parents that they can't like each other because they can pass as siblings. Andy just shrugged off the proposal and told his parents exactly the same words that her best friend told them. The thought of marrying her best friend isn't so bad, because why not? He's smart, funny, good looking and not to mention he's filthy rich. But that's not what she wanted right now. Andy may be bisexual but she is more attracted to girls than guys.
"Yo love, over here!" Andy rolled her eyes at the pet name. Jake calls her love, even though she doesn't like it he insisted on calling her that to scare the guys away. "Jakey Wakey! How are you?" She kissed Jake on the cheek; they're both accustomed to that way of greeting each other. Everyone from their school was rooting for them to end up dating because of the sweetness the pair displays whenever they're together. "I'm great, mi love! Still the man every woman wants. How's my favorite girl?" Jake asked her playfully batting his eyelashes. "I'm good, just stressed with paper work, yknow." Shrugging her shoulders while settling herself on the chair across Jake. "Ah, just another day at work huh. Love, why don't you just quit and run the business with me?" She and Jake have a photography studio, but it's mostly Jake who's running the business. Andy's too busy being the head clinical research coordinator at a research facility at NYU. "You know I can't quit right now Jake. Especially now" She sighs deeply. "That was deep, are you okay, love?" He then gave her a worried look. "Jake! I don't know what's going on. I mean, I think I'm going crazy." She anxiously bit her nails as her eye wandered around the place. Then her chocolate brown eyes landed on a table with 5 people at it but her eyes were fixated on a certain someone, a very familiar sight. A girl with deep blue eyes and light mahogany hair caressed her shoulders freely, bordering her luminous face. "Shit!" She cursed under her breath...
