Chapter Nine: Secrets

Jax sat in front of AJ Weston at the hairy dog, his appearance repulsed Jax. Finding him was pretty easy but Jax wanted answers, he wanted to know why Link listed AJ as the father of her child

"So what did you and Link do together?" Jax asked

"Nothing, she came to me and told me she was listing me as the dad even though we hadn't done anything" AJ said

"I'm not buying your story man, Link hated your guts hell i hate you" Jax said leaning back taking a sip of his beer

"She said the real father could never know" AJ said

"Why? Did she say who was the father?" Jax asked trying to wrap his head around the situation

"No, said she was raped" AJ said

At that moment it hit Jax, a few months before Link ended up in Jail she was jumped on her way home from the clubhouse after her and Jax had gotten into a fight. He remembers asking if all's they did was rough her up and she said yes. He knew it couldnt of   been AJ because he aas in Jail at the time

"How did she contact you?" Jax asked

"She was locked up with my sister, my sister was supposed to take the kid until Link got out" AJ said sipping his glass

"Where's your sister now?" Jax asked

"Marnie, she died last year of an overdose. So if you want answers your gonna have to talk to Link" AJ said

Jax ended up back at the hospital sitting next to Link, he was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that she was raped and didn't tell anyone about it. The doctors had been in and out all afternoon, checking on her vitals  taking her for tests. After they had brought Link back the doctor informed Jax that she should be waking up soon

Jax sat by her side holding her hand stroking the top of her hand with his calloused thumb, wanting answers from Link, but he knew he shouldn't press her the minute she woke up, but he was definitely going to tell her the good news. It was getting late and Jax could barely keep his eyes open when he felt a twitch under his hand his eyes darting up to Link's alarmed eyes, she looked terrified

"Hey babe, glad you came back" Jax said standing up and placing a hand over her cheek while he pressed the call button with the other

Link looked around and tried to sit up but was in a great deal of pain

"Your a trooper babe, only you would take five shots to the back" Jax smiled as the nurses shuffled in with the doctor in tow

"Ahh Lincoln your awake, let's get that tube out so you can talk" The doctor smiled

Jax stepped out while they removed the breathing tube and went over her condition with Link  when he came back Link was sitting up in the bed smiling

"Doc said I'm lucky to be alive" Link said

Jax walked over to Link and planted a kiss on her lips

"I'm happy you are, what else did they tell you?" Jax asked sitting next to Link

"Well, that I'm pregnant" Link said

"You are, what else did they tell you?" Jax asked

"Alot of things, and I'm sure you want some answers" Link said looking away

Jax nodded his head

Link took a deep breath, she had been hiding this secret for the last six years, a secret she never wanted Jax to find out

"I didn't know I was pregnant when I got arrested, at first I didn't think it was even possible. Things didn't add up and then when I heard the news I figured it out. I figured out how I ended up pregnant" Link said

"Why did you put Westons name on the birth certificate?" Jax asked looking at Link as she wiped a tear away

"I was scared, so scared. I didn't know what to do" Link said as more years threatened to fall

"Why? Because you didn't want me to know that you got knocked up by your rapist?" Jax asked getting angry

Link pulled her head back "Who told you that?"

"Weston I paid him a visit" Jax said

"I wasn't raped Jax, no one ever touched me" Link said

"Then who was the father?" Jax asked standing up slightly pushing the chair back

Link swallowed hard, she knew Jax was never going to forgive her for it,that he would walk out of the hospital and never look back

"Who's was it Lincoln?" Jax asked slightly raising his voice

"I think you know" She spat

Jax couldn't breathe, he had has a child he didnt know about that passed away, a child that he couldn't ever hold or grieve because Link took that opportunity away from him

"I can't believe you, we've discussed kids for the longest time. Ever since we were kids and you stripped me of that. I didn't even get a chance to know I was having a son! And what you thought I'd never find out? That you'd hide that from me just like you hid going to jail?" Jax asked gritting his teeth

"I'm sorry Jax I really am" Link cried

"You dont get to say your sorry" Jax said

"Jax" Link said

"Don't. Just don't. I'm done, it's over. Here I thought I had to go after someone for raping you, but no. You had my fuckin kid. Didn't tell me and then put some other guys name on the birth certificate. Fuck you Link." Jax said walking out of the room

Link sat in her bed and cried, hating herself for never telling Jax that she was pregnant in the first place so he could mourn the death of his child. She wished that she would of just told him that she was arrested in the first place instead of hiding that from him too, there were alot of things in Link's life that she should of done differently but it didn't happen like that and now she was the one paying for it.

Jax sat at the bar I'm the clubhouse and threw back his eighth shot in an hour when Gemma walked over to him and took the shot glass from his hand and sliding it back to the bartender

"That is enough for him" Gemma said sternly

"What the fuck Ma" Jax sakd reaching for his glass

"What the hell is your issue?" Gemma asked

"When Link was locked up she was pregnant and the kid died" Jax said

"So your mad at her" Gemma said

"Yeah it was mine, I should of known about it. And now shes pregnant again" Jax said

"So you are sitting here pisses at her and shes probably crying her eyes out stressed because she can't do shit" Gemma said

"Mom don't you get it?" Jax asked looking at his mother

"Listen, she probably didn't want to tell you because she was there when your brother and father died, you think she wanted to know you were going through that alone without her?" Gemma asked

"That's not the point" Jax said shaking his head

"The point is. Your gonna lose her for good this time, everyone has secrets Jackson" Gemma said kissing her sons cheek and walking away
