Meeting

Finn's POV

I woke up at 4:30am Thursday morning, after I showered and dressed in my work uniform, I went and gave Alexa a kiss goodbye.

"Daddy, don't go" she said when I kissed her forehead.

"I have to baby, I love you so much. Be good for grandma and grandpa."

"Can I come see you later daddy?" She asked

"Of course baby, I will talk to grandma first okay?"

"Okay daddy, I love you be safe" she said and hugged me tighter.

"I will baby, Go to sleep babygirl" I said and she laid back down. After she fell asleep I went downstairs.

"Morning sweetie, be safe out there" my mom said when I walked into the kitchen.

"I will mom, listen Lexa wants to come by the firehouse later, make sure to call ahead of time, I don't know if I'll be on a call or not"

"Okay sweetie, I will. Love you" she said and kissed my cheek.

"I love you too mom" I said and went out to my truck. It snowed last night so I had a feeling my morning will be quite busy.

Pulling up to the firehouse, I grabbed my bag and went inside.

"Wow, roads are horrible. Better prepare for calls to start coming in" I said when I went into the kitchen where all the guys were drinking their morning coffee.

"Yeah the scanner has been going crazy but so far its just been fender benders or cars stuck" Steven Burns, the captain said.

"I heard the storm should pass by noon" I said.

"Let's hope, winter here in New York is the worst, we get a lot of snow" Steven said. This time of the year we always had the most house fires and car accidents, I hated my 48 hour shifts.

When noon rolled around we have been called out for six car accidents. I was exhausted, as soon as we would come back from one accident, we were called for another. When the roads we cleared the calls started to slow down, looking down at my phone I called home.

"Hello?" My mom said when she picked the phone up.

"Hey mom, how's Alexa?" I asked her.

"She's good, we saw you on the news" what?

"How was I on the news?" I asked her.

"They were broadcasting that Fatal accident and Lexa saw you using the jaws of life" she told me.

"Oh, I'm not sure how I feel about her seeing that accident on tv" I said.

"She doesn't understand, all she cared about was seeing her daddy" she said.

"Yeah I know mama, can i talk to her?" I asked and I heard her yell for Lexa.

"Hi daddy, you were on tv" she said

"Hi baby, I know that's why grandma told me"

"I miss you daddy, can I come see you?" She asked and I could tell she really wanted to see me.

"Yeah babygirl, I love you. Let me talk to grandma"

"I love you too daddy" and I heard her hand the phone over.

"Hey honey, what time do you want us to come see you?"

"Come here around three, that's when I will have lunch" I told her

"Okay we will see you then, do you need me to bring food for you?" She asked

"Sure mom, a pizza sounds good and I know Lexa would love some" I said smiling.
