A locker door slammed. The suffocating stench of too much perfume wafted in the air as I pulled my clean shirt over my head. We had just finished first period gym and it felt nice to get out of my sweaty clothes.

"Hey,bro. Can I borrow your brush?"

"Sure. You know where it is." Sabrina unzipped the front pouch on my backpack, took out the brush and proceeded to brush her shoulder length dirty blonde hair. Stopping at the red tips. I pulled a navy blue jacket with red lettering over my shoulders then pressed it to my face, inhaling the sweet scent. A chuckle fell from Sabrina's pale thin lips.

I looked up questioningly at my friend. "What?"

"Oh, nothing." She smiled.

"Seriously... What?"

"Its just," Setting a hand on a curved hip, and looked down at me. "Are you ever going to give Alex his jacket back?" A smile played across her face, spreading to mine.

"Not in a million years!" I snuggled his hoodie against my chest. Alex was one of my best friends. We had been friends for several years and it was just this last year that I realized I had "fuzzy feelings" for him. Averting my eyes from Alex's jacket, I saw Sabrina's gloomy face.

"Hey," I started, boring my hazel eyes into her brown ones. "You okay?"
Blinking several times before coming back to reality she responded. "Yeah. No. I'm okay. " Sabrina awkwardly shifted her weight.
"I just didn't get much sleep last night..."

"Ah. I'm sorry." I knew something else was up, but it was no use arguing with her about it. With Sabrina, it doesn't matter how much you beg and plead and bribe, if she doesn't want you to know something, she is not going to let you find out. We walked out of the girl's changing room together into the gym with the other students to wait for the bell to ring. Upon finding Alex, I pulled him into a hug, ruffled his dark brown hair, then linked arms with him and Sabrina and walked out with them right as the bell sounded.
