a new beginning

Finns POV:

Finn's  eyes opened slowly, blurred and achy from all the time they'd spent shut.

"Finn!", He heard a voice calling his name, it was a familiar one, but there was something about it  he couldn't quite place. suddenly his senses clicked and with more words from the mystery speaker he placed it, POE! He extended an arm which Poe eagerly took, pulling him into his embrace. Finn winced, his back still searing with pain from his nearly fatal encounter with Kylo Ren.

"I'm going to get Rey, I'll be right back" Poe said releasing Finn from their long hug and promptly exiting the room.

Finn realised he was in the medical bay and asked the droid how long he'd been there. it answered in a plain mechanical voice "4 months and frankly it's a miracle that Mr Dameron  isn't in here with you, what with his skipping meals and staying up all night watching you."                                                                                                                                                                      "what?"                                                          " He's been in here all day every day waiting for you to wake up"                "oh" was all Finn could fathom in reply.

Then Poe re-entered the room with Rey at his side. Rey's smile broadened as soon as she saw Finn, shooting from ear to ear. " your alive!" Rey almost screamed, beaming as she ran to hug Finn.He scrunched his face up in pain and Rey promptly apologised.  "I wish I could stay longer but I'm about to go on more training with master Luke I'll see you when I get back...goodbye" Rey then left , a slightly guilty look on her face for having to leave so soon.

"So" Finn directed at Poe " you've been in here everyday waiting for me to wake up"                       

" who told you that?" Poe asked blushing a little

" the meds droid.... so did you?" Finn said with a husky, sexy undertone to his voice.

" w-w-what..um-n-n-no-yes" Poe ended this sentence trying to hide his bright red cheeks as he blushed. "I was just really worried you know, that something bad would happen, so I just sat here the whole time".

"don't worry about it, its nice to have some one who actually cares about me" Finn said with an affectionate tone. He'd never had  anyone who really cared for him and his well being before and it was nice to know he now had Poe and he guessed Rey too.

"Do you know how much longer you're in here for?" Poe asked gesturing around the space "no" replied Finn " but you could go and ask someone for me". Poe  then proceeded to get up and search for someone, unfortunately bumping straight into General Organa "general I'm s-so sorry I didn't see you" stuttered Poe, causing Finn to muffle  giggles behind his extra pillow.

"Finn, I was told you were awake" General Organa said with a firm but caring tone "I hope I'm not intruding, but I came to tell you that you can be discharged once you've had a full check over and are able to walk. the medical droid will come by in half an hour and once you are discharged you may go to your quarters. Poe I have no doubt that you will stay and help Finn so here's the key to his room" the General finished turning to face Poe and handing him the key. it had the number 218B inscribed in it.                        "218B, General that's the apartment connected to mine"                                                              " exactly, I want you to help Finn get back on his feet, in all senses. I didn't think you would mind helping, as you two seem so close".         Poe looked up nodding his head in a thankful manner, trying to hide his now rosy cheeks, he truly was happy he'd had a crush on Finn pretty much since they met (I mean come on he looked so hot in his jacket), now maybe he could finally do something about it.
