Turning Blue

My mother's face turned that kind of blue you see in the sky when your depressed

She cried when I told her about dads funeral but she still wasn't blue

She turned around and told me she saw my father in my broken brown eyes and she said it as if I had just taken him away from her

That's when she turned blue

That's when things fell apart

The women down town had this pink face that comes with innocence

I took that pink look away when I first had sex with her on that night when I was feeling like my problems were a train and I was tied to the tracks

I used her only to my advantage because I thought since my dad died I could break anything I wanted

Even if that thing had feelings that would revolve around me

Her face is now blue like my mother's

Then I met you

The girl with pretty blue eyes that reminded me of calm ripples in the water

The girl with porcelain skin that reminded me of white paint being thrown onto black canvases

You had this touch that melted my blue and made my skin turn a shade of red because of lust

I never knew that she would be the reason I stayed blue

The night I had told you "I love you" you smiled then your face turned a green

The kind of green you get when your so anxious you become sick

She whispered "I love you" back I knew it was a complete lie

then you touched my skin

This time it went back to blue
