"And in that moment, she bit her tongue trying to stay calm, with a storm raging inside, and a perfect song on her mind, it was all there, just not spoken." - House of Light

Found's mind had been running in various directions. From her past to the present and the obvious future. She had dealt with fate worse than death. Right now, the battle was between letting her fears go and embracing the happiness in front of her or letting her fears overcome the struggle she'd had so far and embracing darkness once again. The latter option seemed as disgusting as the thought of it. The former was full of risks, she'd be giving up her defense walls and becoming vulnerable enough to be ravaged again.
Faulty too had his thoughts scattered. He had only once been serious about someone and that was years ago. They were kids and as much as it looks funny today, he had been broken then. He had involved himself to the point of devastation and given her the right to love him as well as hurt him the most. After that, it was all just teenage flings. He'd never give a damn about how agonizing his behavior would be to others. Until today. He'd never offered to walk someone home, let alone a girl. He'd never gone chasing after someone who he had just met. He'd never offered to get in the girl's washroom to fix the problem he incidentally created. And never, in his wildest dreams, would he have hoped to fix someone else before taking the best they could offer him. It was a string of firsts for him. After that horrible incident in his past, he had never cared if he appealed to anyone. Even if girls threw themselves at his feet, it would just be for disposable purposes for him. He hadn't felt that guilt until today. Found had probably not even told him anything close to that but he was smart enough to figure that out. As much as he wanted to kill that boy or boys, he was disgusted with himself. He was in the same clan too. Such thoughts made him feel vile enough to throw up. He'd change. For her.
"We're here," Found spoke as softly as she could, she didn't want to reach her place so soon but the timing has always been a bitch.
"That soon? Can we please go back to school and walk back again?" He looked at her with pleading eyes, almost glassy and the saddest smile he had given her, ever.
"Are you out of your mind? Enjoying my company that much?" She screeched the first question but her tone swiftly changed to the one laced with sarcasm as she halted her walk and turned to face him with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes and yes!" Clear. Simple. Faulty wasn't even realizing he was being awfully honest about every single word as if he had no control over his tongue anymore.
"Whoa. That's too early and unexpected. But thank you. I could say the same." Found shrugged her shoulders as if the action was another unspoken communication she had known with him. Her eyes lit up at the last statement, she really was enjoying his company.
"You need to tell that to Chicky. She's so afraid of me seeing you, she'd have my balls if something happened to you under my watch."
"That she will, I know that. But I'll tell her if it means that much to you."
"It'll save me some lecture, I guess."
"I wonder why, though. You don't look like you'd be falling for me anytime soon or ever, rather. Other than that, I guess there should be no reason for her to be so defensive."
Faulty bit his lip. This girl was outright on point. It was exactly why Chicky had been berating him. And there she was, telling him his feelings right on his face without realizing the effects it may have. Chicky was definitely going to chop me into pieces, he mentally slapped himself.
