"What happens when an Alpha doesn't have a Luna?" 

He whistled. "It's gonna be hard for an Alpha to balance his lycan and human sides." Sinulyapan niya ako. "Alpha is using a restraint bracelet to keep his wolf from looking for you, but since the King has been disconnected to him and to the rest of the alphas of Remorse, I don't think the restraint bracelet can still serve its purpose. You have to build the connection or his wolf will surely suffer."

Nalukot ang aking noo. "What do you mean suffer?"

"Iyong pagtulong niya sa boyfriend mo? It caused him half of his wolf's strength. He needs to regain his strength, and he can only do that fast if you will help him."

I swallowed the pool of saliva in my mouth. "And . . . how will I do that?"

He smirked. "Build a connection with him. Get to know him. Be intimate with him. You know? Tamang labing-labing?"

My cheeks blushed. "L-Labing-labing?"

Tumango siya. "Oo. Momol din minsan. Harutan, gano'n." Tumawa siya. "Sorry, wala akong maisip na ibang term pero gets mo na 'yon." Kinindatan niya ako.

Napaiwas ako ng tingin nang namula nang husto ang aking mukha. Seryoso ba 'to? This is not the Beta I expected. He must be pretty special for Levi to choose him and his brother to be the Betas of this pack. 

I tucked my hair behind my ear. "Hank, tinawagan ko si Tina kanina. She said Rouge is missing. Magulo ang ICU at basag ang bintana sa kwarto niya. I think someone took him."

Napansin kong napawi ang kurba sa mga labi niya. Napatuwid din siya ng upo kasabay ng pag-iwas ng tingin.

"Ipapaalam ko kay Alpha kapag nabawi na niya ang lakas niya. Sa ngayon, huwag mo na munang masyadong isipin. Mahihirapan kang mag-build ng koneksyon sa kanya kung may ibang lalakeng gumugulo sa isip mo."

I sighed. "Sige."

He opened the stereo and played a song. Sumandal na lamang din ako sa upuan at pinanood ang tanawin sa labas. 

We took the quickest route to Crescent City. Nadaanan namin ang isa pang pack ngunit hindi na kami pumasok. I just saw the signage after we crossed the borders. May mga bantay rin doon na tila sinisigurong ligtas ang kanya-kanya nilang mga teritoryo.

"That place is kind'a creepy," I couldn't help but say after we passed by the signage that says, "Tyrain".

"They're just keeping their guards up. Wala si Alpha Jace kaya malungkot ang dating ng lugar. Our territories are connected to us. The woods speak how the pack feels."

Napakunot ako ng noo. Now that he mentioned it, I noticed how Brenther's entrance looked gloomy. Parang . . . ang lungkot-lungkot ng lugar. Tyrain looks haunted while Brenther seems . . . sad. Grieving even. 

Hank pointed the greener trees in the entrance of Crescent. "See? Kapag masaya ang pack, masaya ang kakahuyan."

My lips slightly parted. Kung hindi ako nagkakamali ay iyong mag-asawang bumisita sa shop ang namumuno rito.

"The Alpha and Luna of Crescent seems older than Levi and Brenther's Alpha," kumento ko.

"Hindi pa ipinapasa ni Alpha Pierre kay Kyran ang posisyon dahil kailangan pang pamunuan ni Alpha Pierre ang Crescent. The King's absence affected the inner district. We need Alpha Pierre's wisdom kaya hindi pa siya pupwedeng bumaba sa pwesto."

"I see." Pinasadahan ko ng tingin ang lugar. "Ang welcoming ng lugar na ito. Even a human will surely feel safe in here."

"The magic love can do. Even the Earth celebrates Alpha Pierre and Luna Yngrid's strong connection," Hank answered before he stepped on the accelerator a bit harder.

Hindi nagtagal ay tumigil ang sasakyan niya sa harap ng isang malaking tahanan. The beige paint matched perfectly with the Ivy growing on their fences. There's a statue of wolves on either side of the porch while the crescent moon was carved on the double door. 

"Tracy," bati ni Luna Yngrid bago ako hinapit upang yakapin. 

Oh, her motherly vibes just keep on breaking my defense. Hindi ko alam kung nami-miss ko lang ba ang Mama ko o sadyang ang welcoming lang talaga niyang tao. 

Alpha Pierre gave me a fatherly smile. "Welcome to our home. Every inch of this place had missed your presence."

I inhaled a sharp breath before I forced a smile. "Hindi ko ho . . . maalalang napadpad na ako rito."

Luna Yngrid tucked my hair behind my ear. "It's okay, dear. Your memories will come back soon now that you're finally in Astrid." She looked at her husband. "I'll take her to Levi."

Tumango si Alpha Pierre bago nito niyaya si Hank na magkape muna. 

"'Yan ang gusto ko sa'yo, Alpha. Kilalang-kilala mo talaga ako. Sigurado ho ba kayong hindi n'yo ko nawawalang anak?" dinig kong biro ni Hank kay Alpha Pierre.

"He's here," said Luna Yngrid before she turned the knob.

Pinilit kong ngumiti bago tuluyang humakbang papasok. She shut the door, making me take in a sharp breath as I walk towards Levi's side. He's laying on a bed with his forehead wrinkled. His skin looks pale while there are beads of sweat on his forehead. 

Tumikhim ako. "L-Levi?"

I didn't get a response. Nagpasya akong umupo sa gilid ng kama saka ko hinawakan ang kamay niya. I pursed my lips when a wave of unfamiliar sensation trailed down my spine after I held his hand. Tila nagsitayuan ang aking mga balahibo habang bumilis naman ang tibok ng aking puso.

Levi groaned. Maya-maya ay pilit niyang iminulat ang kanyang mga mata. His eyes looked at me with longing, and as its colors slowly turned blue, I felt my chest getting pulled as if it wanted to get closer to him.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyari sa akin. Namalayan ko na lamang na unti-unti na akong humihiga sa kanyang tabi. My head rested on his chest as if it's where my heart wants me to be. Hinanap ko ang pagtanggi sa aking sistema ngunit wala akong nadama.

All I felt . . . was the kind of peace I never felt with anyone. It was as if my soul had been yearning for a home that only his arms could offer. And now that I am finally here, right next to the man they said was destined to keep me by his side forever, my heart slowly became in synced with his. 

Napapikit ako nang patakan niya ng halik ang tuktok ng aking ulo. I know this is happening too fast but . . . I can't pull myself and get up. Para bang naging alipin ako ng sarili kong sistema.

Levi let out a sharp sigh. "Please stay for a while. My soul wants its other half . . ."

I pursed my lips and slowly nodded my head, unable to vocally tell him that my soul begs me for the same thing . . .
