The human

I stared out the balcony to the three moons. It was always night here with the moons always looming about except for the days of the full moon. Which was very often as our lunar cycle consisted of only seven days and all the three of the cycles were synchronized together. Our eyes see everything as bright as they do in the human world during day time, so really the darkness was never a problem. Hence unlike the earthlings, we did not require any electricity.

I walked back in to the room to see my portal glowing. The moon in their world was in alignment and I jumped in taking a guess that maybe a walk around the other dimension may distract the frustrated feeling away. I fell through a plain white gateway between the worlds and into an opening before anyone can alert that I was missing.

I landed in a house. I grumbled to myself to be careful where I land as I might as well land on a human and kill them instantly. There were ways to land here in the exact place you wanted but my parent's restriction on loitering around just about anywhere alone went as far as eliminating most of my dimension travel classes. My eyes instantly adjusted to the view in front of me and a small room with a crib came in to view.

There was small baby looking through the bars awake directly at me. Humans could not see me, maybe sense my presence but never actually see me. I walked around the room trying to find an exit when I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the baby's head was actually turning in my direction.

"Can you see me little one?" I asked wondering why I was trying to talk to a baby who clearly hasn't yet learned to pronounce a single world, but what came next clearly put me in shock. I heard a yes in my head and the baby had not even opened his lips. Did you just answer me telepathically? I thought. FOOD! HUNGRY! I heard him ask in doubt surely looking at me in a confused state as I clearly was not his mom. I almost let out a laugh expecting a baby to answer - yes I can talk to you through my mind how strange!

I watched him stare in to my eyes and saw the silver in his eyes. He was really beautiful. The portal glowed as a warning, and I knew it was time for me to return. I sighed and walked to the portal which had turned a threatening red now as a message for the respective night keeper to know that he was to return to his station immediately.

I landed back at my room finding my parents staring down at me hard. I also find a dozen of guards and maids all surrounding me. The queen cleared her throat and everyone headed back to their work even the king. As soon as the door closed I expected the queen to unleash her wrath but she remained silent and stared out a window.

"We know that you are old enough to go wherever you like but you being a royal come with a sense of responsibility. Make one more mistake and I'll have a female guard posted in your room and as a punishment for your carelessness I am taking away the dimension travel classes for the week", she said very softly with her eyes still away from me. My silence gave her my acceptance to be punished.

"We both love you and if anything happens to you..." her voice cracked," Always have guard with you at all times when you travel." her voice changed quickly to command and she swiftly went out of the room. I lay on the bed tired, the human world was linked to ours and when daylight broke there it made us tired and want to sleep. We did not need to sleep but we slept all the same saving our energy. I pushed the events of the night and fell in to a deep sleep.
