Masquerade ball and lies (Part 1)

The small elf pulled back the bow string, taking in a deep breath as she focused on her target. She shot it and it hit exactly where she had wanted it too and she turned, her eyes bright and happy. "Good one." I said smiling at her and she smiled back. "Practicing with Varric really pulled off! Maybe he'll let me shoot Bianca soon!" She said and I laughed. "I don't think he will but then again, he adores you." I said and she stuck out a tongue before turning around and shooting an arrow. She hadn't paid attention and almost shot Dorian, her face went pale. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry Dorian!" She yelled and he chuckled. "No worries! It didn't hit me." He said and walked over to us.
I gave a small smile as the two began talking. Personally, I didn't expect them to become great friends. My sister hated Trevinter's and she was scared of Dorian for a month until she realized he loved books. Now she won't ever stop talking to him. I've given my sister my room and I took Solas'. I had painted over his drawings on the room besides the wolf in the center. It for some reason made me feel at peace and like he was still there with me. I was snapped out of my thoughts from Dorian and my sister saying my name. I narrowed my eyes at the two "What?" I asked and Dorian sighed. "Please tell me you weren't thinking about Solas. I thought you were talking to Zevran?" He asked and I shook my head.
"No, Zevran and I are just friends. I was thinking about him but it was about his paintings." I replied and my sister rolled her eyes. "What about that guy from Kirkwall? He's cute." She commented and I cocked an eyebrow. "What guy?" I asked and she does the same as me. "The elf. Or the blonde. He's cute too." She replied and I rolled my eyes at her. "The elf's name is Fenris and the blonde is Anders." I said and Dorian looked at us. "I don't think Fenris has moved on from Hawke." Dorian said and I nodded. "He's right. He's still pissed off about everything." I added and my sister shrugs. "Yeah well, you seriously need to move on." She said and I rolled my eyes. "I don't need my baby sister to give me relationship advice."
I said, pushing her a bit. She laughed and Lexus walked over to us. "Lia, Cullen asked to speak with you. Something about a bow?" She asked and Lia immediately ran off, yelling Cullen's name. I laughed lightly and looked at the Inquisitor. "Any news on Solas?" I asked and she shook her head. "No but Iron Bull thinks the Qunari know something." She replied and I nodded. "Oh and also, we're having a party." She added and I groaned in annoyance. "But why? They're sooooo boring." I said and she laughed. "Because we are and I want to teach Cullen how to dance. Well, better than he does." She replied. "Also, it's a masquerade party so, Josephine will be helping you with your outfit." She added and walked away.
"I suppose I should get ready." Dorian said and I nod. "Me too...." I replied and we both walked away.

I had finished helping Lia with her hair for the ball even though she didn't want to go. She wore a light blue dress that went down a little past her knees and only one arm had a sleeve. She had gotten a black mask from Lexus, which she didn't see the point of wearing as you can still tell it's her from just looking at her eyes. I braided her hair and put small flowers in multiple areas for her. I had Josie do my hair, which were just in loose curls and with a small flower above my ear. My dress was a light green with sleeves but the back was cut off until it was at my hips. The front was a slightly revealing but she said it would be good if I wanted to impress anyone. She had it designed for me to show off my Elven heretics and I had to admit, it was gorgeous.
I helped my sister fix her heels, as she's never worn them once in her entire life and I sighed. "Now, if anyone flirts with you, tell me and I'll beat them up." I said and she laughed. "If I guy flirts with me, I'll be the one who beats them up." She said and I laughed softly. "Shall we go, sister?" I asked holding my hand out and she handed me my mask before taking my hand. "After you." She replied. We had the same masks and shoes but mine needed to be tied while her's weren't. We walked to the Main Hall and Dorian walked over to us. "You two look absolutely lovely." He said and kissed the top of our hands. Making my sister blush and look away. "And you look handsomer than usual." I replied and he laughed. "I tried." He said.
My sister was pulled inside by Lexus and Dorian held his hand out for me. "Would you like me to escort you, Lady Mariah?" He asked and I rolled my eyes, taking his hand. "I'd be honored, Ser Dorian." I replied and he scrunched his nose, something I always found adorable about him. We walked inside and all eyes were on us and Lexus smiled, sitting in her chair as Cullen stood next to her. Dorian and I walked away from each other and I went over to Sera. "You look nice." She said and I smiled. "Thank you, as do you." I replied and she shrugs. "I didn't wear a fancy dress but thanks." She replied and I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw Zevran, smiling. I immediately hugged him and he hugged back. "It's great to see you again Mariah." He said, his accent making my name sound different than usual.
I smiled and pulled away. "You too, Zevran. You look very nice." I said and he shrugged. "You should look at yourself. You look absolutely beautiful." He replied and my face heated up. "Ew." Sera said before walking away, making the two of us laugh. "Ah yes, Varric wanted me to ask you if you'd like to play a round of Wicked Grace" he said and I nod, following him outside and into the garden. Varric sat, in his normal attire with Iron Bull, Cole, shockingly Fenris, and Isabela. I sat down next to Varric, Zevran taking a seat across from me. "Elfie! Glad you could make it!" Varric said with a smile and I laughed. "I wouldn't ever miss a game of Wicked Grace. But I have to say, I didn't think you two would be here." I said, looking at Isabela and Fenris. He shrugged, looking at me.
"Isabela insisted I came with her and Merrill was annoying me." He replied and Isabela laughed. "I came for the booze, nothing else." She replied and I rolled my eyes. "Of course you did." I commented and Varric handed me a stack of cards. "You in Broody?" He asked and Fenris sighed. "I'll regret it but yes." He replied and we all began playing.

After an hour or two, I had won three games, Varric winning twelve, Isabela winning two, and Zevran only winning the last one. I sighed and leaned back in my chair. "Well, I'm out." I said and Fenris nods. "So am I." He commented and Varric laughs. "You two really suck at Wicked Grace." He said, tossing in four silvers. "Hey! I won three rounds!" I said, defensively. He rolls his eyes and laughs. "I've won twelve. What's your point." He replied and I sat in silence for a moment. "Shut up." I said and took my leave. I walked inside and saw my sister talking with Morrigan's son. I smiled a bit and Morrigan walked over to me. "It seems like those two may like each other." She commented and I nod. "If I want anyone to be with Lia, it'd be him. He's so sweet." I replied and she nodded, as we watched the two and my sister's face turning red from a comment he had made.
I was pulled away from Morrigan and onto the dance floor by Zevran and my face heated up, hopping he didn't notice. He smiled a bit and I looked away. "Did I embarrass you? Is that why your face is all red?" He asked and I smacked his shoulder lightly. "Stop being mean." I said as he spun me out before making me come back to him. "I don't believe I'm being mean. I can if you want." He replied, pulling me closer to him and I shook my head. My face was probably a lot redder than it was and I narrowed my eyes at him. I kissed his cheek and below his ear, making his face immediately turned red. "Two can play at that game, Zevran." I commented and he laughed lightly. "It appears so."

Welcome to the new shitty book! None of this will actually be based off of the Trespasser DLC because I'm never played it but Cullen and Lexus will be doing their cute thing with the dog and stuff while Mariah will see Solas later after they all find out he's the Dread Wolf.

Also, I'm probably making a part two of this because I didn't want to make this really long and I had no idea what else to write about.
