People.
They suck right? I know. I was your average girl who didn't care too much for human interaction. Maybe it was from my anti-social doctorate parents who were always in the hospital rather than raising their little girl. But they gave me money for all the times they weren't their hoping I was happy. Well after saving all that "happy" money and earning some more I saved up to go to a school I had dreamed of going to. The college I dreamed of. Even though it was abroad all the way in Japan I was ready for a new life. No longer hearing excuses from my parents.
I was now in the international airport of Chicago. My parents were telling me their goodbyes until I came home for the summer. My mother gave me a hug as did my father. Who happened to be on the phone the whole time talking to a client begging for their next plastic surgery.
"Just call if you need anything honey you know we'll send you the money if you need it". I nodded like always to her. 'I don't need your damn money god' I thought to myself. My father gave me a kiss on the forehead and just muttered a "have fun kid". I heard the announcement for my flight and quickly grabbed my bags. Saying goodbye quickly I ran to my flight. Panting as my legs carried me to the doors. After showing my passport the flight attendant lets me on. The heavy luggages I had were all being border. While I had my hand bag and over night bag. The flight would be 13 hours which would be quite a while.
Once I reached my seat I laid back in my window seat smiling. Finally, I was free.
---------------------------------------
I was awoken with the turbulence of the plane. Lifting up my hood I looked around to see everyone start grabbing their little bags and accessories. I soon did the same ruffling my short brown hair. I grabbed the basic stuff and waited like everyone else did for the flight to end.
Wen we landed I could feel the joy of exploring my new home. As I grabbed my things I headed off the flight and into the airport of Tokyo. Soon I received all of my other carry ons and luggages. Carrying them into the taxi I had ordered a couple hours later. I had the biggest smile on my face. Excited to start school, start a new life.
About 3 hours into the city I soon arrived at my new home. It was a little duplex off of the streets of Tokyo. It had a couple stores around it like a 7-eleven, a ramen shop and some little thrift store. I grabbed my key from the envelope I received in the mail a couple weeks back with all my necessities for the apartment. Practically dragging all of my luggage up the stairs I finally reached apartment 6C I opened the door to find my boxes all in the house as I had shipped them here in advance.
I got settled not too long after that. Making some instant noodles and drank a glass of water. Good enough for now. After brushing my teeth I soon made my bed and plopped down with a long sigh.
"Finally, free" I whispered into the silent night of my new home.
