Its been eight months. All I can think about is her. God, her smile, her laugh, the way her eyes would light up every time she talked. Her ocean blue eyes had me lost at sea. There was never a time that I didn't want to be around her. And now all I want is to see her. To smile and wave in that cute way that she always did. I crave to hear her voice every time that she would sing in that timid yet adorable way that she did. I wish she were here, even if its for the last time. At least I could see the ocean one last time in her eyes.

She would always talk about the ocean and how it fascinated her. I suppose thats why I see the crisp blue waters every time I look into those beautiful eyes. I loved everything about her, but I especially loved her eyes. I would always catch her pupils expanding every time she looked at the ocean. It was her true passion, just like how she was mine.

I remember one day when she would stare at the ocean with joy and excitement and then there would be other days where she would sit at the shoreline cove and think. I would ask her what she was thinking about and she would always reply with the same thing, "About how short life really is". That was always her response and I would always respond by taking her hand and saying, "Then why waste a moment".

I guess it makes sense then. Why the ocean took her away. I heard the news, "I'm sorry man, they confirmed that it was her". They say she drowned. Jumped in herself and never came back up. They say that they saw her sitting at the cove at sundown. She held her knees together in a tight embrace as the gentle sea breeze blew on her graceful locks of hair. I tried to call for her but to no avail. I didn't get any sleep that night. I knew something bad was bound to happen. And yet, I did nothing. And I've regretted every day since.

Which is why I'm here today. Sitting at that same cove where she pondered that same question, "Why is life so short". I guess now I realize why she would always ask that. Because she knew her life was going to be short, she caused it to be short. And I'll never know why.

Life is a lot longer than we think, we can choose to make it short. Never did I think I would lose her. And never did I think that I would be in the same position as she was on that night eight months ago. But I knew that it would be impossible to live without her. So why not join her. Like two souls together in a fish bowl. I looked down at the water beneath me and then, I let myself fall beneath the waves.
