Aylia's POV

Kimberli walked over and hugged me. I stood as still as I could be. "What's wrong? Aren't you glad to see me?" I stepped out of the hug and glared at her. "No, I'm not." Kimberli looked at me with a confused face. "Why? We haven't seen each other in like 5 years. Don't say you haven't forgotten about me." I shook my head. "It's not that. Can you guys give us a minute?"

Everyone started heading out. I shut the door behind them. "What do you want to talk about? You're not going to kill me right? I laughed. "Really? I know what weapon you have. I'm not stupid." Kimberli let out a sign of relief. I walked toward the window. I didn't even dare look at her.

"Look. I need to talk to you about something. " Kimberli looked at me. "What's the problem?" I whipped around. "You're the problem. Where's that 6 year Kimberli I used to know? The one that was my best friend. We made a pact that we would never ever change who we were. We would never change our side, but you know what, you broke that pact along with the second promise. We would never break promises or pacts."

"You betrayed everyone. You said you would would come ever month which you did, but you stopped coming. Your mother was worried sick about you. People started to forget about you. I even forgot about you, but no one is around for us anymore and it's all your fault!" I felt like I needed to cry, but not in front her.

" What do you mean no one is around for us?" I frowned. "I'm surprised he didn't tell you." When I said that, my uncle walked into the room. "Oh. Now would be a great time he told you." I stomped out of the room without saying anything. I had to get away from here. No place on this ship was private.

After searching for about 45 minutes, I found a tiny, little crawl space. I breathed in and out. I was content. This was horrible. There are two people on this craft that I can't stand. I would rather die. Actually, no. I don't want to die. I need to get through this in one piece. I just don't understand why Kimberli would side with..........................them. What good have they done for her? They killed her friends and family.

In the distance, I heard my name being called. I didn't make a sound. It was useless because she already knew where I was. What's the point? I spent the night in the crawl space. It wasn't the most comfortable place, but I was alone and free from everybody else.

I woke up to feet pounding against the floor. "We have to find that stupid girl! She couldn't have gone far." I rolled my eyes. Where do people think I'm going to go? There is no place to go. I heard footsteps getting closer to my hiding spot. I tucked my foot in closer to me. I didn't dare make a sound. 'This way men." All the footsteps speed off except for one.

"Aylia. Please come out. It will make it easier." I felt like I was three. I cautiously scooted out of my hiding spot. I looked up to see Kimberli standing there in all black. Black had always been her favorite color. "Now was that so hard?" I didn't say anything. "Okay. I know you are mad at me, but please this could be a new start for us to become friends again." I still didn't respond. Kimberli sighed. "Just think about. Your uncle would like to talk to you by the way. Do you want me to escort you there or be "escorted" by officers. I stared at her. "You."

Kimberli smiled. "I probably thought so." I didn't say a single word on the way. Once we got there, Kimberli said goodbye and wished me luck. Can't wait to see what's behind the door. I pushed the door open ever so slowly.
