Dressed in all black, I stalk my latest prey. I can sense her fear. She walks a little faster, and I close in. Placing my hand on her shoulder, I whisper into her ear.

“Hello beautiful, how have you been?”

My long time girlfriend, Velvet, turns around. “Oh, it just you, sorry I ran.”

I step up closer and look at her with hungry eyes. Feeling my teeth grow in length, I cover my face with the collar of my coat. “Can we, um, go somewhere private?”

She looks at me with a curious expression, “it's happening again, isn't it?”

I nod, and we walk into an empty alleyway. Till a couple weeks ago, I'd been able to sate my thirst on blood bags, but the donated blood no longer curbs my appetite.

Velvet leans up against a wall, pulls down her shirt collar, and tilts her head to the side. “I'm doing this for you, (Yn), take as much as you need,” she says.

I sink my fangs into her pale neck, she moans and calls out my name. I try to restrict how much I take, but I can't stop myself. Her Faunus blood is thicker and sweeter than the stagnant blood donations that I'm used to. Even after I drink what I need, I continue until I can feel Velvet's heartbeat slow.

She cries out to me, “(Yn) please, stop. I can't take anymore.”

I stop drinking, nearly killing her. I don't let go, fearing she might fall by herself. “Oh my god, I'm sorry Velvet, I'm so sorry,” I say as I break down, crying over my girlfriend's near lifeless body.

She looks up at me and places a hand on my cheek, “It's okay, (Yn), I did what I could to help.” She coughs up blood, and displays a crimson smile.

“No, Velvet, please don't leave me,” I cry. Then I remember the power my mistress gave to me when she freed me from her servitude. “Velvet, my love, I can save you, but the words have to come from your mouth,” I say, drawing my six-inch trench knife and slicing my wrist.

Velvet nods and says, “D-d-do it, m-make me your eternal servant.” She grabs my arm, and with my help, positions it over her mouth.

She sucks greedily and drinks my vampire blood from the wound. Her brown eyes close, and then her heart stops beating. For a moment I'm scared that I hadn't made it in time, but she opens her now sanguine eyes and smiles. I help her up and we stand together.

“Velvet, I'm sorry it had to come to this,” I say cupping her face with my hand, “Please forgive me.”

Velvet shakes her head, “Silly boy, I told you I wanted this. The only thing you did was love a girl so unconditionally.” She closes her red eyes and leans in to kiss me. I do the same and pull her in closer. Her lips move from mine, and land on my neck. I open my eyes to see Velvet looking, with pleading eyes.

“Is someone thirsty,” I ask with a smirk. She nods and I in button my shirt a bit, exposing some more skin. “Now don't take to much, I have blood packs back at my apartment that I can send with you.”

She lowers her head and caresses my neck with her tongue. Velvet bites down and a clench my fist. I hadn't felt fangs in my neck since the last time my mistress and I saw each other. I grit my teeth and swallow. Velvet finishes, but is still too weak to make the trip back to Beacon. I pick her up in my arms, and carry her to my apartment.

When we get there, I grab a blood pack from the fridge and throw it in the microwave. I pull it out and split it with Velvet while we watch the new Spruce Willis movie. We finish, and I throw the empty bag into a metal wastebasket. I grab my flint lighter, and burn the contents of the basket. I look over at the couch we had been sitting on, and see a sleeping Velvet.
