They tried and tried
To dim that light
The light that stood for freedom
The light that stood for equality
The light that stood for you
The light that stood for me
They tried and tried
To switch off that light
But it fought and fought
He fought and fought
The intergrity
The honesty
That he had
The belief
The purity
That he cariied within him
He fought for it and then more
It captured
Then
Finally
After struggle and pain
It shone brighter than the sun
Breaking all barriers
He lit the world
A true inspiration
One who aspired to do good
One who had a heart of a common man
One was the envy of a leader man
Now he leaves the world
Now he leaves us
While he goes to heaven and shine with his light
His light here shimmers, The world bocomes dimmer
We mourn, our loss
But his legacy shall live on
I pray, we pray
That the belief in his purposes of his, live on
May we continue to fight
May we continue to stay
