. . .

It's raining, me, my mom, and siblings are in the car waiting for Dad. We are on the side on the busy road. I'm near the window just staring at the car honking at others cars. We have a pretty decent car for a family of 7 siblings. Including me.

My mom is looking out the window waiting for dad. She looks tired and she is bundled up in her scarf, boots, pants, and jacket.

"Mommy I'm bored when is daddy coming".

That's Jessi the youngest. She is 5. She always wants things done fast and so do I. Quick and easy.

"I don't know honey". Mom says.

12:47 am

Dad finally arrives in the car, my mom looks annoyed.

"Are you okay Jaylen"? Dad questions.

Mom does a really faint smile and says softly she's alright. Then she steps on the gas and causes what feels like a thousand cars to honk at us. I look around in the car and everyone seems to be glued to their seats, besides dad and mom.

"look......I'm sorry I'm almost always late, it was just a hard day at wo-". 

Dad gets cut off my mom

"I don't wanna hear it I'm too tired for this". Mom sighs.

1:02 pm

We arrive at the house, and mom is the first to get out. She shuts the door and it's loud when it closes. Dad is just sitting there and I'm not going to listen to him explain about how he's sorry. I quickly get out as well.

I hear him call my name but I ignore him and make sure mom is okay

"Callie wait, please"! Dad yells

I open the door and I call for mom because I don't see her anywhere. I look out the window and I don't see my siblings out of the car but, it seems like they are in there.......but I don't see dad.

I go up to mom's room but she not in there.

Now I'm worried.

I'm still looking for mom and dad. I feel hopeless, though. I let myself fall on the couch. I look at and stare at the wall.

I think, and think, but I just can't think of anywhere else they might be. While I am thinking I remember my siblings.

2:24 pm

"How could I forget them"?! I yell.

I run out of the door, and sure enough, they aren't there.

Just then I feel something pull me back.
