Chapter One: Chosen Day.
The black coated men came today. They easily toke Millie. My mother screams and cries about some game. I was only 11. I never really cared. But later today, my mother put on the small tv. Millie was standing in a forest alone.
Three days later, my mother again, decided to turn on that tv. Right as we turned it on, Millie was stabbed to death by a heavy female. My mother cried and screamed. Me, Lilly and Grace didn't know what to say or do.
That evening my mother committed suicide, pulling the trigger on fathers gun, and getting a bullet in the head.
We were now alone. And what could we do?

The Day Before.....
The floorboards creaked as I made it down the tight hallway towards the living room/ kitchen/ bedroom space. We lived in a small, run down house. The walls were blank, no colour to be found, the floorboards stained. The house was bigger, but some of the rooms fell apart, making us forced to sleep in the living room.
That was the only room untouched. The curtains were stained from so much sunlight it had let into our home. The one big window, was cracked and very dirty. And the door. Stained and slowly breaking down. Our house smelled like sewer, but so did the streets.
Grace was the new oldest sister. She was 21, and I was 18. Lilly is 15. Millie was 25, her death shook us all. She was a strong independent women, who died in that twisted game. After her death, I started to watch the games, to see what kind of strategy I could learn. We learned after Millie's death, Mom was in the games. She had won the 50 games.
How she did, we don't know, but people told us, she was a legend in the game. That's why it shocked everyone when Millie died. Millie took place in the 79 games. This year was the 83 game.
Our family is famous, but how come Millie couldn't survive?
I stared blankly towards the last family photo we ever took. This game was stupid! Why are they only killing females.
The sad part of the games is that once your chosen, you can not take someone's place. The stupid Company who believes that women between 15 and 38 are evil, and how they don't belong here. There are five men that are thrown into the games, they are aloud to take someone's place.
There are 30 pairs. Pairs meaning that the person you are chosen with, is your partner. You play for five days , and if you survive the time limit with some other people you are all declared winners.
But that's never happened before. And there system for choosing is stupid as well. Black coated people come and knock on your door. If they knock you must answer. Anyway, they will ask you the ages of the children in the house, any of them between 15-38 are taken.
Its rare that a whole family is thrown into the games.
I looked up at the sun shining down on me on the stairs outside our house. Everyone's houses are all the same, the trees are burnt and the sand is very hot. Bruary seems to never get any rain.
One more thing about the game. After half are killed, you are taken to a new playing field where the remaining players fight and murder until one lives.
I'm more scared for Grace and Lilly. It always seem that they take the youngest people and the middle/oldest people. It's rare that a 18 year old is put in the games.
Tomorrow was Choosing Day, and I hope there are no knocks at my door.

Choosing Day...
The forest was dense and hard to maneuver though. I had to find somewhere to hid from the girl who was chasing me. Thud! I had tripped over an branch, and my ankle shot up pain. I then saw my attacker up close. Her blond hair put in pigtails and her blue eyes that sparkled for blood. She raised her sword, and I realized it was Lilly about to kill me.m
Blood was spat in my face, and Lilly fell lifeless to the ground. Millie stood there, she grabbed my hand.
"You must live!" She kept repeating that, and I was getting scared as she led me to a cave. Was this actually Millie? No it wasn't because I could hear her twisted laughter behind me. She threw her knife at me, and it embedded into my chest.
I started to cough up blood, and Millie kept laughing, even after the darkness took ahold of me.
I woke up panicking, to only realize that Lilly and Grace were staring at me funny. It was almost time that those people would come around and knock.
We sat in a circle holding hands and supporting each other. Then a heavy knock sounded the door. Grace swiftly got up, we trailed behind her.
She opened the door, and two men in black suits were standing there.
"Alright, I'm guessing your the Mason family?" He said in a authorizing tone. Grace nodded and they grabbed all three of us.
They threw us on the ground and quickly pointed their guns at us. I was terrified. Three men led us to an cow hauling trailer. They pushed us inside for us then to see more people who are going to be in this twisted game.
It was dark inside the trailer, but it rocked back and forth as the truck that was towing it started to take us to our destination. Us Masons were huddled together, we were the only ones that had family going with them.
It was a silent ride, except for the occasional scream and crying noises. It would seem forever before the truck came to a halt.
We were more terrified as ever, as the back door opened.
